Once I set foot in
Nelson Chan's Nelson J Salon, I was comforted with warmth as I was offered a beverage and slipped into one of their salon robes. The main reason I wanted to see
Nelson is because he offers Eco-Friendly hair color, conditioning treatments and hair care products. I’ve been coloring my hair for a long time. His non-ammonia products are better for the environment, better for my hair and don’t give me a headache. The hair perfectionist said that ammonia raises the ph level to alkaline, which can damage hair and its follicles. I came in with washed out highlights and very dry hair.
Nelson decided to lowlight, deep condition, and trim all the dead-ends. I felt very at ease while he took control.
While I was getting my hair cut, I also received a deluxe manicure with a massage by the expert manicurist/masseuse,
Nicole Dinh. I would recommend this to anyone (she even does house-calls to celebrities). You owe it to yourself to get a manicure and massage while having your hair done. Nicole will massage sea salts into your hands and forearms to release all the tension from a hard day’s work, massaging those little aches and pains that build up from hours of using a keyboard or other repetitive motion activity. The acupressure massage can actually help heal various parts of the body.
