My Blend Review – Skincare so Superior, It Took Three Years to Perfect!

My Blend is a skincare system comprised of three levels of personalization – essentials, boosters and specifics – which yields 225 combinations for various skin profiles.

Prior to developing the line, Dr. Olivier Courtin was an orthopedic surgeon where he studied the skin’s healing process and gained expertise in the skin’s recovery capabilities and regneration processes, all of which varied on an individual basis. Dr. Courtin applied his skin research to the development of My Blend, and after three years of extensive chemical testing, Dr. Courtin and his team of scientists finally perfected the Cell Synergy Day and Night complexes using exclusive neuroactive peptides.

Synergy Day protects the skin against premature cellular damage and Synergy Night stimulates the production of collagen and restores antioxidants to repair any current damages. Though the source of most skin damage is climate and environment, the way the skin reacts is affected by individual lifestyle, hormones and genetics, which together, create one’s “ skin profile.”

Step 1: Find your blend

My personal blend began with Stress Management, and after a week of using the feather-light day lotion and concentrated, yet still sheer night crème, I already noticed an improvement! My problem area is above my eyebrows, and not only has the tone been more even and calm, but also my pores look smaller and feel cleaner.

Step 2: Boost your blend

1.    Radiant Burst: restores skin’s glow to make face look and feel fresher

The Anti-Jet Lag Relief is My Blend’s newest booster and is the first time any skincare brand has incorporated the effects of chronobiology on the skin. Chronobiologist, Dr. Mark Rosekind, studies how sleep affects the body, and worked with with Dr. Courtin to create the dual protection complex employed in this booster. At the epidermis level (outter skin), the booster soothes, hydrates, firms and protects, while at the dermis level (inner skin), the booster creates a moisture resevoir for continuous hydration.

Full benefits of the boosters are not reaped until the full two-week dosage is used up, but after using my Radiant Burst booster for about a week, I can say that my skin definitely appears fresher, more vibrant and incredibly hydrated.

6.     Detoxifying & Purifying Cleanser: deep-pore gel cleanser for all skin profiles, specifically oil and blemish-prone
7.     Caring Crème Cleanser: shea butter, soothing creamy formula for dry, sensitive or traumatized skin types

My personalized blend was finalized with the addition of the Time Resisting Eye Crème. I’ve been using eye creams for a few years, but after experiencing Dr. Courtin’s eye complex for just one night, I can see that my money was not well spent in the past. Other formulas I used were either not moisturizing enough so I’d wake up with my skin feeling tight, too thick so not absorbed properly or just not quite right “for me.” Time Resisting Eye Crème, however, did none of this! Though the crème is highly concentrated, it is whipped and absorbs easily, without leaving a shiny-greasy look or building up in the fine lines around my eyes.

The Launch: From sea to shining sea…

When I think of New York, I picture high-rises, humid summers, frost-bitten winters and stressed out individuals racing back and forth on subways.

Switching modes to Los Angeles brings images of beaches, Santa Ana winds, sunlight, sunburns and tanning salons, just in case someone is stuck in traffic long enough to miss more fun in the sun.

As you can see, “life it the city” does not have the same meaning to everyone. My Blend’s first milestone was breaking into the hectic and incredibly tense lives of New Yorkers, with its product launch at Saks 5th Avenue.
