The sandwich is a simple, modest food, eaten daily by billions of people around the world, however Mendocino Farms in Los Angeles reconstructs the classics by combining “fine dining” entrees to the sandwich level.
Chief Sandwich Creator Mario del Pero and Chef/Partner Judy Han hit a homerun in my opinion by incorporating local produce in all of their sandwiches, salads and soups. Tonight I tried the Chicken MBT (mozzarella, basil and tomato) on ciabatta and tried a half of A Sandwich Study Of Heat, which was turkey and avocado with smoked gouda, chili aioli and jalapeno relish on a grilled rustic panini.
Sandwiches are eaten on any and every occasion and since Mendocino Farms is committed to working with the best local farmers in every region that the restaurant exists, I am committed to eating any and every sandwich at one of their 5 locations.
Welcome to the neighborhood!
Ciao for now
