There are certain restaurants that are such American and global classics that they’re emblazoned on our consciousness. We think we know them inside and out. But stand back -- the renowned Hard Rock Cafe is reinventing itself beyond our wildest expectations!
With a fantastic, new menu and a Celebrity Executive Chef Leonard Delgado, Hard Rock Cafe is no longer a venue which is primarily attended by tourists or music aficionados, or those who want to get together for drinks or a basic burger or chicken wings. Hard Rock Cafe is now an establishment which caters to “foodies” -- and their growing reputation for excellent cuisine is well-deserved.
New offerings include some of the most delicious bruschetta ever made, featuring all-natural ingredients on homemade bread, as well as creamed spinach dip and the Nachopalooza.
Also delicious: a divine salmon entree, barbeque plates and a variety of gourmet burgers, as well as a delectable Grilled Vegetable Sandwich and Onion Rings.
The Arugula Salad was simply divine, delicately dressed in lemon olive oil, dried cranberries and white vinegar.
Dessert brings new and equally divine treats, so save some room! The Apple Cobbler shows Chef Delgado’s expertise on may levels, and the Hot Fudge Brownie and Oreo Cheesecake are fantastic twists on all-time favorites.
The new drink menu features delicious variations on well-loved, standard fare -- such as the Magical Mystery Mojito, an HRC take on the Cuban classic.
Air Mexico Margaritas are sure to be a new favorite, along with the delicious Salted Caramel Café, Twisted Shout Shake, and the Red Berry Press.
The staff at Hard Rock Hollywood is friendly, attentive and extremely accomodating, giving special focus to dietary needs, including vegetarian and gluten-free.
A grand total of eight courses were served to VIPs and press in honor of the new menu launch, and the sentiments were unanimous: whether on vacation or in one’s own home town, Hard Rock Cafe is a hot destination for delicious cuisine. Come for the food. Stay for the fun and the atmosphere.
Of course, one great reason to frequent any Hard Rock Cafe is their own, diverse collection of memorabilia from music’s most iconic greats. One of the great treasures of the Hard Rock Hollywood Collection is Jim Morrison’s infamous Brown Leather Pants. Morrison wore the pants for about two years straight and cemented them into rock history when they were worn onstage at The Doors’ legendary Hollywood Bowl show in 1968.
Also among the prized displays of Hard Rock Hollywood:
Jim Morrison of The Doors’ handwritten lyrics to “LA Woman”: This set of reference lyrics were used when recording the mega-iconic song; less than four months after this song was released in April of ’71, Jim was gone forever. Handwritten lyrics from rock’s golden age are incredibly personal and affecting pieces of memorabilia – and this is one of Hard Rock’s best examples.
Eddie Van Halen’s 1986 signature Kramer “Frankenstein” Guitar: Cobbled together from leftover pieces, discarded hardware and a final recognizable touch in the form of a haphazard stripped finish paint job using Schwinn bicycle paint, “Frankenstein” was the start of many seismic shifts Eddie brought to the guitar world.
Carl Wilson of The Beach Boys’ 1966 Fender Jaguar Guitar: This 1966 Fender Jaguar is the quintessential surf guitar and the Beach Boys were the quintessential surf band. Carl Wilson strummed this Jag through much of the band’s late ‘60s period. It’s a great piece of history from the ultimate California group.
Hard Rock Cafe Hollywood Blvd’s Executive Chef Leonard Delgado’s passion for food began at a young age in his mom’s kitchen in San Jose, CA and continued with an apprenticeship with in Switzerland specializing in French and Swiss pastry. After subsequent, intensive trainings, he has prepared meals of highest quality for heads of state and high ranking government officials including Jordan’s King Hussein, Vice President Dan Quayle, and Governors Pete Wilson and Jerry Brown.
Delgado serves up the delectable Hard Rock specialties including some of the best burgers, fries and Hickory smoked ribs around, along with his own local menu of specialties showcasing fresh meat and seafood as well as locally grown produce.
“We’re undergoing a renaissance,” Chef Leonard says of his tweaks to the traditional menu. “We’re still loud, we’re still fun and we’re still rock and roll, but I want our guests to say ‘I went there and the food was phenomenal – oh, and I got a t-shirt too.’”
You got it, Chef Delgado. We’re on our way.
