The Napa Vinters Association and LearnAboutWine.com presented 'Napa Vintners - Los Angeles Napa Nightlife' this past Monday night, February 6, 2006. Prestigious wineries from California's most acclaimed valley gathered at the famous Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel to showcase their cabernet, merlot, chardonnay, and red table wine. The wines displayed were decidedly the best Napa has to offer. The cabernets in particular were of extremely high character. I could truly tell each of these wineries brought the best they had and most were of limited production. The two-hour event featured some of the most seductive wines Napa Valley has to offer, accompanied by hors d'oeuvre , high energy music.

If you had been too busy to go wine tasting in Napa, this was the perfect chance to discover and sample wines from Napa Valley. LearnAboutWine has evolved into the source of wine education and events in Southern California. The main room where the event was held had over 20 different wineries, each with their own highly knowledgeable staff. Each sample included the history of each winery, the year of the wine, and what makes their wine special. This was the ultimate education in wine. Open to the public, with several hundred attendees, the main room was full of true wine lovers waiting for each sample. Each wine seemed to carry its own unique flavor which left me wondering how the same valley can produce grapes with such diverse and distinct flavor. As an true wine aficionado, I was surprised at the great taste of many of the wines that were of 2002 and 2003 production. Had I not been told the year of production, I would have guessed these wines were several years older. Each sip of these fine wines made me realize the pride each of these wineries have in their wine. Many of these wineries are family owned and you could truly sense the pride in each glass poured.

As the main room became full, many moved to the pool area of the luxurious Roosevelt Hotel where an additional group of fine wineries gathered to display their wine. With both rooms full of wine lovers, the atmosphere was extremely joyous and festive. This wine tasting extravaganza was picture perfect with the best of all Napa wines, great appetizers, and superb entertainment provided by Quango Records and Bossa-Nova Productions.
Wine's role in our culture needs an inspiring educator...to simplify, demystify, and explain the growing wall of wine information and facts. The next generation of wine consumer needs romance and entertainment...with lots of flavor. And, a fun host to make sense of it all. Thus, LearnAboutWine.com.
