The Taste of Huntington Beach provided much more than a taste on Sunday. It gave everyone in attendance a barrage of food and drinks that never seemed to end over this amazing four hour party that also benefitted two great causes.
The event this year was put on to benefit the Children's Wing of the Huntington Beach Library along with the Boys and Girls Clubs of Huntington Valley. In addition to the fantastic turnout that helped raise money for these two causes, there was also a silent auction with some amazing gift baskets that were donated by various Huntington Beach businesses.
The four hour tasting took place at the Huntington Beach Outdoor Sports Complex, which is across the street from the Huntington Beach Central Library. This provided a beautiful location to enjoy, the food, wine and beer that was offered up on this stunningly perfect Sunday.
The Keith Bohr, the mayor of Huntington Beach, was in attendance handing out an assortment of awards to some of the participating restaurants. Also on hand to help out with the festivities was Miss Huntington Beach, Kate Brewster.
This is a great way for cities to promote restaurants and you can find these type of events in most major cities these days, but I must say after attending a number of these over the years, this was without question the best one I have ever participated in. Not only was this a festive atmosphere, but the restaurants really pulled out all the stops by serving their best dishes and they were more than happy to give you as much as you could eat. The quality of the restaurants was matched by their great attitude, if you are looking for a food event in 2010, this is the one to attend.
