From his London premiere in 1968, Mr. Chow's namesake restaurant has enjoyed decades of success with his progressive Chinese menu and even more spectacular guest list. Gweneth, J. Lo, Brad Pitt, Barbara Streisand, and Robert DeNiro are but a few of his many celebrity regulars. Mr. Chow introduced his innovative take on the Chinese fare at a time when Chinese food was considered inexpensive take-out. Some praised his cuisine as "avant garde," others accused Mr. Chow of straying from the Chinese tradition. Either way, the critics were silenced as his popularity grew with all who agreed it was time for a delicious change. Today, with all controversies behind, guests enjoy his special take on squab with lettuce, green prawns, hand-pulled noodles, chicken dumplings, poached chicken creations and Peking duck, to name a few. Known more as a lunch spot than for dinner, be sure to dress smart and call ahead to reserve a table -- or risk being turned away whilst in the presence of Hollywood royalty.
