Miyagi's Restaurant a night on the town - early bird - errrr. Early dog!

We wanted to take to dogs out for dinner, well actually the dogs had already eaten, we wanted to go to dinner and bring the dogs along, so it was necessary to find an Asian restaurant, I felt like Asian, that would allow dogs.

Miyagi's on Sunset

As we sped by Miyagi's, we thought why not check them out, I hadn't been there since it was The Roxbury with Eli Samaha and Tia Carrera hanging out. So we called and were told not only was it ok for the dogs but they had 2 for 1 specials from 5:30-7:00. Since it was 6:00 we made a U turn and went back to give it a try.

Dog Friendly

We arrived and tied up the dogs. There were a few tables taken with lots more open. There was a special 2 for 1 menu with lots to choose from. One side had sushi and rolls and the other side had the more traditional meals like teriyaki chicken, filet, shrimp, dumplings tempura, etc.

Sushi made Upstairs

One of the lovely waitresses came right over and loved on our dogs, who could blame her, and gave them a big bowl of water.

Sushi Plate

We ordered tuna sushi and teriyaki filet. The tuna came, was beautiful and tasted great, there were four pieces with the obligatory wasabi (I love wasabi) and ginger.

Lobster Roll

The filet teriyaki was cut into cubes and smothered in teriyaki sauce with two additional dipping sauces, one a little spicy like wasabi and the other more like the teriyaki.

Hungry Couple!

As the evening progressed more and more people arrived. There is a nice tradition that they offer when at approx. 7:00 everyone is passed a shot on the house, the music stops and everyone toasts 'Miyagi's.' We met Edgar, the chef who was very caring about all the details, I like that!

Started to fill up near 7pm

Now the piece d' resistance, a wonderful desert, three flavors of Mochi, mango, green tea and red bean (my favorite) with a large scoop of wonderful fried chocolate ice cream and whipped cream. Yum Yum.

Dessert to die for!

We paid the reasonable bill, packed up our dogs and off we went.

Miyagi's is located at 8225 Sunset Blvd. West Hollywood 90046
