Just around the corner from the Staples and Convention Centers sitting at 1037 Flower Street, you’ll find Liberty Grill Fine Dining Restaurant located in a recently-renovated historic building.   Operated by local residents, Liberty Grill is an ideal place to stop and enjoy a pleasant and leisurely meal with friends, family or that special someone. Whether on your way to, or home from a game or convention; even if you just want to stop for a quick bite after a stroll downtown, this just may be the perfect spot for you.

Outdoor Dining

For those who prefer dining indoors, you will find original brick, and large wood beams with walls covered in American décor.  For those dining outdoors, the Mission-style patio features a large fireplace, a separate bar and beautiful Los Angeles skyline views.  With classic American cuisine, and a large menu selection, you will find that even those with the most discriminating pallet will find a dish to enjoy.   Whether you’re stopping for breakfast, lunch or squeezing in that last meal of the day, the soft lighting and warm color scheme offer a cozy atmosphere to relax and unwind.   Manager Jay Fernandez has a few menu selections he recommends. From the BBQ Baby Back Ribs, to Liberty Grill’s Meatloaf, to the Grilled Fishwich with grilled marinated Mahi Mahi, shaved iceberg lettuce, tomato and citrus cilantro tarter sauce; served on a whole wheat bun.

Indoor Dining

I had the pleasure of tasting two of the many choices the menu has to offer.   The meatloaf melts in your mouth and was a perfectly portioned meal for one.   Wrapped in applewood-smoked bacon with buttery mashed potatoes and grilled veggies on the side, I didn’t realize meatloaf was allowed to taste that good!   With its’ explosion of flavor, this dish speaks for itself.

The BBQ Baby Back Ribs are served full slab, with crispy sliced yams and coleslaw.   Although the ribs were tasty, I would have preferred them to have been cooked a bit less.   It seemed they may have sat out a bit or been re-heated before being served. Although this could possibly be attributed to the fact that it was the end of the day.  The staff serving my party was very friendly and professional consisting of a hostess that greeted us with a smile, an attentive waitress that actually came back in 60 seconds when we asked for one more minute (which almost never happens), and the manager Mr. Jay Fernandez who was so kind as to not only make his recommendations from the menu but to ensure we were enjoying our selection by checking on us mid-meal.

Although the restaurant was pretty busy, you wouldn’t know it by the fast service and short wait from seating, to the food being placed in front of you.   If you’ve been looking for a great place to sit down and unwind before or after a concert or a day of shopping where you can satisfy your taste buds, fill your belly, and be on your way, look no further.
