To say this band put on a ‘high-energy’ performance would be an understatement. Fitz and the Tantrums took the stage at the Red Bull Sounds Space and lit it up! Getting the crowd hyped to their ultra melodic tunes paired perfectly with an electrifying band made the perfect kick off to the day, and not to mention a great taste of what to expect from their new album, which is set to be released soon!

Fitz and the Tantrums are an American indie pop band infused with ‘soul’ and a little bit of blues. The group formed in 2008 and has quickly grown and has won over the hearts of many. Fitz and the Tantrums brought a fun, high-energy performance at the Red Bull Sound Space at KROQ.  150 lucky individuals and local fans had the opportunity to watch the performance live at the intimate space. Fitz and the Tantrums will be releasing new project "More Than Just a Dream" on May 7, the follow-up to their critically acclaimed 2010 album "Pickin' Up the Pieces."

Transforming the space into a dance party, Fitz and the Tantrums mixed it up and gave the people what they wanted. We wanted people to hear our voices, which is why we don’t have a guitarist, said frontman Michael Fitzpatrick. No guitar-no problem! Ingenuity has taken effect; this band has strategically outlines ‘real’ music and has taken it back to its roots. In any given performance you can hear the melody and various tones from the mix of instruments come together while creating pure harmonious intellect.

About Red Bull Sound Space:

What was once an office space packed with hum-drum cubicles is now home to a stage evoking the spirit of underground rock and roll.  KROQ listener donations of old audio equipment such as '40s-era radios, record players and blinged-out boomboxes were crafted into a piece of artwork that adorns the stage.  Since its launch in October 2011, the space has hosted Coldplay, The Black Keys, Bad Religion, The Fray, Of Monsters and Men, Keane, FUN, Falling in Reverse, Angels & Airwaves, Pennywise, Silversun Pickups, Neon Trees, Imagine Dragons, Metric, Serj Tankian, M83, Passion Pit, Grouplove, Slightly Stoopid (KROQ), as well as Maroon 5, Flo Rida & Nelly Furtado (AMP).
