Coheed and Cambria at Hollywood Palladium - Neverender GAIBSIV tour successfully lands in Los Angeles

Smashing into Easter weekend, Coheed and Cambria turned out Hollywood Palladium for their Neverender GAIBSIV tour in Los Angeles, California on Sat Apr 15, 2017 with sideliner The Deer Hunter commencing at 7 PM for an evening of progressive metal straight from its most genius talent.

This particular spring tour, Neverender GAIBSIV; is a trek set to the glorious sounds of 2005’s Good Apollo, I’m Burning Star IV: From Fear Through The Eyes of Madness. The hit [third] album was played in its entirety to screaming fans swelling toward center stage, though frontman Claudio Sanchez started with an acoustic version of “A Favor House Atlantic”; saving the mosh pit for later.

Coinciding with the GAIBSIV tour, front runner Claudio Sanchez announced a new comic book series based on Good Apollo. The "12-issue run is the latest entry in BOOM! Studios’ The Armory Wars, a loose adaptation of the sci-fi concept storyline" has guided the majority of their work to date.

Heavily conducting videography designed to take listeners on a tour through psychedelics; four screens brightly flashing in popping neon hues with flying ∆s and girls with oozing eye sockets as Cambria expertly navigated the audience journey, steeping them in heavy bass lines, skull crescendoing contraltos, and foamy tap beer in the classic clear plastic to evoke much emotion from the crowd.

Coheed and Cambria is made up of Claudio Sanchez (lead vocals, rhythm guitar, keyboards), Travis Stever (lead guitar, backing vocals), Josh Eppard (drums, keyboards), and Zach Cooper (bass). Good Apollo, I’m Burning Star IV: From Fear Through The Eyes of Madness is based on and coexists with a science fiction graphic novel featuring, you guessed it, Good Apollo. According to wikipedia, ...I’m Burning Star IV: From Fear Through The Eyes of Madness "examines the life of The Writer, a character krafting the lives of protagonist Claudio and his companions in the form of a fictional story. Through a series of delusional conversations with his ten speed bicycle about an unfaithful former lover, The Writer decides he must kill the Prise Ambellina to properly end his story. The events in the narrative itself build up to a final confrontation between Jesse's rebel forces and the Red Army of Supreme Tri-Mage Wilhelm Ryan under the command of General Mayo Deftinwolf, as well as a literal meeting of the Writer and Claudio culminating in the death of Ambellina and Claudio's emergence as the Crowing."

Originating in Providence, Rhode Island, The Deer Hunter "began as a side project of Casey Crescenzo, formerly of The Receiving End of Sirens." A perfect match to Coheed & Cambria's double bass aesthetic, the band features four guitarists + bass players on stage with a pianoist and drummer. Wicked ballads telling a story of "the birth, life, and abrupt death of a boy known only as - The Deer Hunter" complete their set as fans hungered for Coheed & Cambria to begin. Likewise to touring mate Coheed,  The Deer Hunter announced a "comic adaptation of their own concept album series, the Act hexology. The Act I: The Lake South, the River North graphic novel is currently for sale via Cave and Canary Goods."
