The Lion King Review - at The Pantages Theater Hollywood - VIBRANT AND FULL OF LIFE!

The magical experience that one hopes for when getting ready to go to the theatre is exactly what we experienced last night at the Pantages Theatre!

The Lion King was MAGICAL, COLORFUL, VIBRANT AND FULL OF LIFE!  Los Angeles quickly disappeared and Africa became alive'
The energy of the theatre itself begins to let your imagination wonder.  When we arrived I felt as though we were entering an old beautiful castle.  As I sat in my seat patiently waiting for the moment that the lights dim and the little child in you wants to escape to that magical pretend world, I couldn't help but wonder how many plays have been performed here.  How many people have passed thru these fairy tale doors?  How many songs have been sung?  How many laughs have passed thru these aisles?  How many tears?  It is apparent as you sit in the theatre that lives are touched, people are transformed and performers shine!  The beauty from the architect alone is captivating.

The Lion King in all its magic was spectacular!  The music takes you so far from home and touches your soul with such passion.  As the actors became more and more vibrant and animated, I could see the excitement on the faces of the people around me.  I couldn't get close enough with my binoculars' I wanted to be right up on stage with them.  I was touched by the innocence of the character, 'Simba' and I was moved by the Power and love of his father, Mufasa.  I loved how I was able to experience so many emotions- after all isn't that why we go to the theatre anyway?  My hope is that while the theatre seats now sit empty, awaiting the opportunity to touch the souls of yet another audience that you too will share in the same experience that we did last night.

The Lion King - now in its tenth sold-out year on Broadway- is continuing its United States national Tours.  In addition to the United States National Tours, other productions are currently playing in New York, London, Hamburg, Tokyo, and Seoul. The Lion King is the winner of over 40 major awards.  'We are proud to bring THE LION KING to the venues across the country as part of Disney on Broadway on Tour,' said producer Thomas Schumacher.  'THE LION KING has been thrilling audiences on Broadway and across the world, and we are excited that theatergoers across the U.S. will have the opportunity to enjoy the same goose-bump experience in their home towns.'
