Little Shop Of Horrors at OCPAC

I found the show "Little Shop of Horrors" to be most entertaining. I liked that it catered to all ages. All the cast members exuded confidence in their roles conveying passion in the execution of their lines.  They demonstrated great chemistry with one another which helped the show come alive even more.
The orchestra presented the upbeat music in the most harmonious way.  They dazzled me with the "Suddenly Seymour" song.

The 3 women from skid row "Crystal, Chiffon and Ronnete" played their parts magnificently.  Crystal (Badia Faha,) Chiffon (Iris Burruss,) and Ronnette (Latonya Holmes) could not have been more in tune with their characters. Their singing displayed passion and their body language during their speaking lines were most entertaining.

Credit must be given to the great costumes by William Ivey Long.  The most electrifying were the white dresses with silver accents that were used to dress the three skid row ladies as they slowly rose up in one powerful scene.
Audrey (Tari Kelly) played her part with great passion, and by personalizing her role, she showed how much fun she was having.
The entire cast was fabulous and I would recommend everyone go see this play.

Lastly, I was able to make a strong connection with the movie although the ending was a little different; but I won't reveal how. All I can say is that the show caters to the audience at hand, which personalizes the show itself.

LITTLE SHOP OF HORRORS features a spectacular, planet-panicking plant designed by The Jim Henson WorkshopTM and Martin P. Robinson. Mr. Robinson previously designed the plant used in the original 1982 Off-Broadway production. Audrey II, as the bloodthirsty puppet is called, features a main pod the size of a Mini Cooper. Orchids are the inspiration for Audrey II's color scheme, more specifically, a Venus Ladyslipper.

Starring in LITTLE SHOP OF HORRORS are Jonathan Rayson as Seymour Krelbourn and Tari Kelly as Audrey. Michael James Leslie will provide the voice of Audrey II.  James Moye will appear as Orin Scrivello, D.D.S. and Lenny Wolpe will play Mr. Mushnik. Rounding out the cast are LaTonya Holmes (Ronnette), Amina Robinson (Crystal) and Yasmeen Sulieman (Chiffon) along with puppeteers Michael Latini, Paul McGinnis (a Huntington Beach native) and Marc Petrosino and understudies James Alexander (Audrey II), Iris Burruss (Chiffon, Crystal, Ronnette), Darin De Paul (Mushnik), Yvette Lawrence (Audrey), and Jim Poulos (Seymour, Orin, et al.).

LITTLE SHOP OF HORRORS features scenic design by Scott Pask, costume design by William Ivey Long, lighting design by Donald Holder and sound design by T. Richard Fitzgerald.

LITTLE SHOP OF HORRORS is based on the 1960 Roger Corman film of the same name.  The musical had its world premiere at the WPA Theatre on May 6, 1982. It subsequently transferred to Off-Broadway's Orpheum Theatre on July 27, 1982, where it ran for an unprecedented 2,209 performances.  In 1986, the popular movie version staring Rick Moranis and Steve Martin hit the big screen, which eventually lead to the opening on Broadway in August 2003.
