Chicago the Musical

Chicago is Burning Down L.A.!! Now playing at the Pantages Theatre for a limited 3-week engagement, through Sunday February 20th.

Patti LaBelle

The audience went wild stopping the show when special guest star Patti LaBelle entered onstage for "Chicago's" opening night. LaBelle did not disappoint, she was in top voice and added a unique and soulful R&B flavor to her role as Matron Mama Morton. Singer LaBelle a delight to watch, showed off her virtuosity and command of the stage and audience as skillfully as any actress who has been treading the boards.

Brenda Braxton & Bianca Marroquin

Brenda Braxton (Velma Kelly) is coming to us from Broadway where she was starring as Velma Kelly. Braxton's voice (one of the best in the cast) was silky smooth and beautiful. Her portrayal of double murderess Velma was luminous and well rounded.

Bianca Marroquin plays the star struck Roxie Heart and does so with a kooky wit and humor making her very endearing to the audience. Her dancing and voice were effervescent and full of life.

Gregory Harrison, Jennifer Mackensie Dunne & Nicole Bridgewater

Gregory Harrison has replaced previously announced Wayne Brady as the Billy Flynn. Brady had to step out of the part due to a vocal strain. Harrison is also a Chicago Alumni having played the part of Billy Flynn on Broadway. Harrison was lovably slimy as the super slick lawyer Flynn. Harrison a well known television star was completely at home on the stage of the Pantages.

There wasn't a bad voice or weak performance in this cast of "Chicago".  Look for a few of our favorite cast members R. Bean as the beautifully voiced Mary Sunshine; Dante A. Sciarra as all the hilarious members of the Jury and the decidedly not invisible P.J. Benjamin as Amos Hart. This is a fast moving show with and a solid touring company.  In fact the whole production sizzles with charisma and talent.  Murder, greed, corruption, violence, exploitation, adultery, and treachery - "Chicago' has what L.A. loves. A definite must see just hurry because tickets are going fast for this short engagement.

Cell Block Murderers
