U-Haul Rental Truck Review - A Smooth, Comfortable Ride

U might think all rental trucks are the same.  U would be wrong.  U-Haul is a cut above the rest.   When it came time to move, my friend Victoria and I rented a 10 foot U-Haul truck, and we were quite impressed!

Sleek and Aerodynamic

We picked up our U-haul truck in Los Angeles, at 4550 Sunset Blvd.  Both the desk clerk and the manager were extremely friendly and helpful.  The manager showed us to our truck, which we quickly inspected... then we were on our way.  It was hard to believe I was driving a truck, as the vehicle handled more like a car.  My friend Victoria kept telling me to drive carefully, as it's not a car, but I assured her my maneuvers were perfectly safe.

Comfortable seats with lots of interior room

Even though we had rented the smallest of their moving trucks, there was plenty of room for all of our stuff.  They also rent smaller cargo vans and pickup trucks, as well as 14, 17, 24 and 26 foot moving trucks.  Unlike some of their competitors, they rent trucks for local, as well as one way moves.

In 2005, U-Haul celebrated 60 years of serving the do-it-yourself moving household. Like many other successful ventures, the concept for U-Haul was generated out of need. After World War II, there existed widespread need for do-it-yourself moving equipment on a one-way, nationwide basis. U-Haul co-founders L.S. "Sam" Shoen and his wife, Anna Mary Carty Shoen, recognized that need and acted upon it. Their visionary approach shared the cost of ownership among many users, facilitating the mobility of the population of the U.S. and Canada. The covered wagon of the pioneers morphed into orange U-Haul trailers. In the process, an industry was born.

The smooth closing rear door

For more than 60 years, U-Haul has incorporated sustainable practices into its everyday operations. Today they remain focused on reducing waste and dedicated to manufacturing reusable components and recyclable products. The commitment to sustainability, through their products and services, has helped reduce their impact on the environment.

U-Haul is an industry giant with the largest rental fleet in the world that can be rented from over 13,700 independent dealers and over 1,300 company-owned U-Haul centers. U-Haul is also one of the industry's largest operators of self-storage facilities, the world's largest installer of permanent trailer hitches and the world's largest single-brand Yellow Pages advertiser.

U-Haul offers 30 days of free storage to people affected by natural disasters, such as hurricanes, tornados, floods, etc. at participating U-Haul self-storage facilities on an as-available basis.

The 10 foot truck is only $19.95, plus tax and mileage

They believe in helping people who desperately need to evacuate or take items out of their homes while they put their lives back together. U-Haul is an integral part of each community they serve. They were built by the same people who are affected by natural disasters, and are proud to be able to give something back to the community during a time of need.

So, if you need to move, rent a great truck - from a great company - at a great price.  Rent a U-Haul.
