Oktoberfest is always a time for unique once-a-year celebrations and this year is no exception as Los Angeles is home to several great events. Splash Magazines Worldwide has put together a list of the best Oktoberfest events for you to partake in this month.

Santa Anita Park and Dog Haus will be hosting their first annual Oktoberfest extravaganza on Saturday October 12th and they are going to give guests a little bit of everything to go with a lot of fun. You can find yourself on the infield at Santa Anita with 28 German and craft beer breweries including Golden Road, New Belgium, Stone, Epic, Bootleggers, Speakeasy and Angel City among others. You can pair your beer with some authentic German fare to accentuate your beer; they have that as well courtesy of Santa Anita Chef Eric Maranowski, his specialty cuisine and German Pretzel purveyors.  Dog Haus, Southern California's destination for gourmet hot dogs and sausages, is bringing the Best of the Würst, serving Beer Brat Dogs, Sausages and Tater Tots. You are not going to find a better Oktoberfest menu anywhere!

No Oktoberfest is complete without music, and Santa Anita Park's festival has an artist lineup sure to please, including Bavarian Wunderband and The Spazmatics--plus a special appearance by Boogie Knights. Bavarian Wunderband, a six-piece combo performing authentic German oom-pah band favorites will have the crowd on their feet and flapping their wings to the "Chicken Dance" and toasting each other with "Ein Prosit", as well as conducting an Alpenhorn blowing competition. The members of Bavarian Wunderband bring authenticity to Oktoberfest with more than just music--they are known for their gorgeous German costumes as well.  If you love 80's music, and who doesn’t, New Wave wonders The Spazmatics will be performing.  As a special bonus, Boogie Knights, "the greatest disco revival show in the world", are scheduled to bring their dance floor vibe to the event

Pasadena personality extraordinaire and host Bryan Gallyot will work the stage, while Santa Anita’s own MC José Contreras will be on hand to assist people with racing terminology and betting booths while they are watching a giant live video feed of the races in real time.

For those that want to compete for more than most beers consumed, the festivities also include an official Corn Toss competition, Stein holding contest and the always popular costume contest with categories including Child, Traditional Man and Woman, Sexiest Man and Woman and New School. Children can enjoy the day as well as there will is a family friendly activity zone that includes a visit with SeaBiscuit, Pony Rides, Face Painting, a Bounce House, Photo Booth and more!

Angel City Brewery will be celebrating Oktoberfest on October 19th from 12 p.m. to 8 p.m. with a day of beer, babes and games.  The event will help support the Angel City Derby Girls’ mission to keep L.A. rolling.

The Angel City Derby Girls was founded in 2006 and is Southern California’s premiere flat track roller derby league. Volunteer run and 100% owned and operated by its members, the Angel City Derby Girls are a hard-hitting and hard-working group of women. Their motto? “We get hit on a lot.”

On October 19, the Derby Girls will be at Angel City Brewery to preside over the ceremonial tapping of the brewery’s Oktoberfest beer at 12:30 p.m. with Brewer Dieter Foerstner.  Then the party continues with a Derby Girl photo booth – that’s right, squeeze up close, they only LOOK like they bite. Ping pong, darts, corn hole and ladder toss competitions will be taking place all day. There will be live music by RT N’ the 44’s, great food from the Currywurst food truck and of course, there will be plenty of beer flowing.

The Public House is Angel City’s own 19-tap bar serving a changing roster of classic and newly inspired beer. The bar is open 7 days a week with an ever-changing calendar of events ranging from weekly industry and trivia nights, to art shows and live music.
