Day to Night Fashion Show for LA Fashion Week 2014 - Front Row Fashion Review

The official LA Fashion Week kicked off on Friday, October 10th, 2014 with an impeccable show like never before, Day to Night Fashion Show. The 350-guest gala was conceptualized by executive producers Sarah and Erin Whitaker and their team from Parker Whitaker Productions.

 

Day to Night brought this season's ready-to-wear options centerstage, showcasing womenswear designs that encompass fun and easy daywear to stun-everyone-around-you eveningwear and everything in between. Celebrities including the stars of Shahs of Sunset, Clippers player Deandre Jordan, NFL Wide receiver Dale Moss, and Alexis Bellino came out to in style to see the hottest collections saunter down the classic spiral staircase at the W Hollywood.

Shawl Dawls opened the event with a chic live installation showcasing the gorgeous ways their convertible shawl can transform any outfit. The installation featured Jeans by JHaus, and jewelry by Livre Brune. Photographers and guests were able to get up close to view the innovative designs.


First to the runway was Single by Galina Sobolev, California Dreaming Spring / Summer 2015 Collection.  Always a crowd favorite, Single stunned this evening with a bright color palette, gorgeous floral patterns, jumpsuits and the season's finest ensembles. Sea of Pearls closed the first half of the show with their California line of chic tees and tops. Paired with sequined shorts and sparkling floor length skirts, Sea of Pearls showed how their deliciously soft tops can be dressed up to the nines or dressed down with stylish flair. Superstar model Naima Mora of America's Next Top Model walked in the show as a special treat for guests.

The second half of the evening opened with FBF by Checka. The high-energy collection featured pieces that seamlessly transition from work to play. Timeless dresses and perfectly paired ensembles showcased the effortless glamour of the collection.

Guests were enamored by Day to Night makeup sponsor The Organic Face, by Noreen Diani, swarming the beauty lounge for a chance to try out their revolutionary 100% chemical free natural organic skincare and game-changing cosmetics. esNAIL joined the evening with a luxury nail bar for guests to enjoy mini nail services. For this event, I selected a satin 1980’s inspired violet jumpsuit from the Single Dress Collection by Galina Sobolev. I channeled the high fashion lace-bunny-ears trend as seen on the Louis Vuitton’s runway along with black Givenchy heels. As for make up, I made a statement in a glowing amethyst opalescent rich purple lip colour to achieve  a lush-lip look with full, smooth and hydrated results. Afterall, purple lipstick and lipgloss are universal and anyone can pull it off.
