Sue Wong hosted a celebratory party in the honor of Master Romio Shrestha and the remarkable musician, Donovan Leitch at her historical Hollywood residence, The Cedars. It was a spectacular evening filled with music, food and dancing along with about 200 members of the fashion world including celebrities, editors, fashion stylists, news media members and Hollywood socialites.
The 10,000 –square-foot estate was built in 1926 for film director Marcel Tourneur. Jimmy Hendrix was a former resident and his bedroom with alcove was one of the many beautiful rooms in the Los Feliz Mansion known as The Cedars. The hilltop villa overlooks the beautiful Los Angeles City and is now owned by one of the legendary fashion designers -- Sue Wong, whose gowns are known for their timeless, Old- Hollywood glamour and feminine beauty. It is no surprise; Sue Wong has tastefully completed the mansion by restoring the original aesthetic beauty of the house and preserving its massive fireplaces, ceilings and gilded columns.
I fell in love with The Cedars Estate. The grandiose portrait of Sue Wong hangs in the entryway of The Cedars which includes esoteric symbols that convey the perception of her mind, body and spirit. The floor–to-ceiling collage of gold colors, burgundy, dark purple and royal blue along with the priceless antiques décor and furniture was highly fascinating. As a matter of fact, Jimi Hendrix was inspired to write “Purple Hase” song in 1967 from his bedroom.
