On June 10, 2014, the Etihad Airways celebrated the launch of the new airline service between Los Angeles International Airport (LAX), Calif., and Abu Dhabi International Airport (AUH),  United Arab Emirates at the legendary Hearst Home estate in Beverly Hills, Calif.

Hearst Mansion

Hearst Mansion

Hearst Home once belonged to the media mogul William Randolph Hearst. Today, Hearst Home is considered the most expensive house on the market in the entire United States, worth $165 million dollars. It is approximately 6.25 acres of land and 75,000 square feet of living space.  Former United State President John F. Kennedy and his wife Jacqueline Kennedy honeymooned in this home. The home is a celebrity itself, having appeared in the movies "Bodyguard" and "Godfather", graced the cover of Vanity Fair, featured in The New York Times and The Wall Street Journal aaand has been leased by the celebrities to celebrate everything from Rihanna's birthday bash to a party for Prince Albert of Monaco.

Upon the arrival, the red carpet was rolled out to its elite VIP guests and welcomed with a performance from the classical Arabian Ayala dancers. The guests were greeted and escorted through the mansion out to the courtyard by the Etihad Airways cabin crew.  Arabic coffee was offered during the champagne reception where guests sampled canapés and enjoyed mingling during such flamboyant event. The decor and the garden area at the Hearst Home, was indeed to die for. The H-shaped residence exhibits a perfect combination of Spanish and Italian style, with intricately carved ceilings and paneled walls, French doors, balconies, arched ceilings and floor-to-ceiling windows, which overlook the famous cascading waterfalls to the pool and the Venetian columns beyond the pool house.

After the reception, the guests were escorted to their tables and each table had a name. It was named after the islands off the coast of Abu Dhabi.  The Etihad Airways' extravagance gala was filled with almost 500 guests including Yousef Al Otaiba, UAE Ambassador to the United States, Michael H. Corbin, U.S. Ambassador of UAE, and celebrities such as Dannii Minogue, the X Factor Judge; legendary Quincy Jones; former astronaut Buzz Aldrin; Chef Wolfgang Puck; and Shaun Toub with special live performance by Harry Connick, Jr. and his band.

Michael Duddie, Operator and Executive Chef Guus Wickenhagen from Event Horizon Catering served a three-course dinner, while the guests enjoyed Etihad Airways's and Abu Dhabi's amazing 3D mapping sound show. The Event Horizon Catering is best know for being one of Los Angeles’ leading catering firms serving exquisite culinary offering to the iconic TCL Chinese Theater in Hollywood, Calif..

Harry Connick, Jr.

“The 7.4 billion dollars airline, Etihad Airways, is the only airline that offers residence and a nanny on board." mentioned James Hogan, Etihad AirwaysPresident and Chief Executive Officer.  In other words, the airline’s A380 aircraft residence is the only three-room hotel in the sky, as well the airline’s first class apartment, suites and business class products.

Etihad Airways is the national airline of the United Arab Emirates and has in just ten years established itself as the world’s leading airline with multiple-award recognitions for over five consecutive years . “Etihad” is the Arabic word for “union”. For the Etihad Airway's "Black Tie" event, I decided to wear a black gown from the top fashion designer Narciso Rodriguez who has dressed many royals including the First Lady Michelle Obama, Carolyn Kennedy Bessette, Kate Middleton and celebrities such as Charlize Theron, Reese Witherspoon, Jessica Alba, Katie Holmes, Claire Danes, Kim Kardashian amongst many others.

The black floor-length gown with the see-through lace decals around my waist complimented the look I was going for which was the classic Hollywood glamour look. I kept my make up to natural earth tone shades, styled my hair with a simple straight hair look and framed my face with the exquisite diamond earring studs. The completed look made me feel utterly feminine, glamorous, and confident for the attendance at one of the most prestige events in Beverly Hills with my handsome date/husband Arman Magz.
