Matchbox Twenty

an age where successful bands are crafted out of marketing surveys and carefully styled images, Matchbox Twenty frontman, Rob Thomas has a much simpler approach, "…make beautiful noise together." With this simple, yet effective method, Matchbox Twenty nabbed Rolling Stones 1997 Reader's Poll vote for "Best New Band" after just one year together. The rest of their story continues with one triumph after another beginning with their recording debut "Yourself or Someone Like You," which has since gone twelve times platinum. A barrage of hit singles followed with "Push," "3AM," "Real World," Back 2 Good" and "Bent."

Their latest, much-anticipated release, "More Than You Think You Are" is hailed as the band's most evolved effort to date. "There's no question that a lot of this record's sound came from the fact that we toured so much," Thomas says. "After 'mad season,' we got out on the road and played those songs night after night, and I'd think, 'That's the way they should be.'… This is the most rockin' record we've done, but at the same time, there's a warmness to it, a real organic quality that I just love." The album was also a collaborative effort with Paul Doucette and Kyle Cook sharing songwriting duties with Thomas on several tracks. Like everything else the band seems to touch, their synergistic efforts have paid off with the album's first single, "Unwell" already a number one radio run new single and "Bright Lights," a number one most-added single.
