June 14, 2005 Burbank CA - On the Warner Lot in Burbank on the evening of Monday June 13th 2005 JETBLUE AIRWAYS celebrated there new flight path from Burbank to JFK.  The evening was highlighted with a private screening & live show of the movie AIRPLANE, 25 years later.  To Co-host the night from the film AIRPLANE were the three writers and directors Jerry & David Zucker, Jim Abrahams and star of the film Robert Hays.

The celebration began with a blue carpet arrival which included: Bob Saget, Jennifer Tisdale (Dark Ride), Andrew Keegan (O, 10 Things I Hate About You), Mark Summers (Food Network's Unwrapped, Double Dare), Roma Maffia (Nip/Tuck), Erica Hubbard (Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants), C.J. Sanders (Six Feet Under, Ray), Chris Sanders (NFL Star Tenn. Titans), Amy McCarthy (Dirty Love, Playboy), Nicholas Gonzalez (OC), Jeff Conway (Grease & Taxi), Missi Pyle (Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, Big Fish), Jamie White (Star 98.7), Renee Olstead (Still Standing), amongst others.

The Mayor Jef Vander Borght of Burbank was there to proclaim May 24th 2005, as the day the first flight left Bob Hope Airport in Burbank, JETBLUE DAY!  The proclamation was received by key JETBLUE Executives Tim Clayton, Todd Burke and Andrea Spiegel. BLUE BETTY JETBLUE's official airstream trailer was all rigged out for guests to tour.

Guests were encouraged to dress up as their favorite AIRPLANE! cast member and were given costumed props to use during key scenes throughout the film.  Three winners were chosen as the top dressed of the night and rewarded with free roundtrip flights on JETBLUE.  All were treated to light fare, Stockholm Kristall & Alize BLUE FUEL Martinis, also their to hydrate was Viitaminwater & Smartwater.   JETBLUE, we love you too.

There were three categories for best costume: Most Authentic, Most Original and Dishonorable Mention. Winner of each category will be awarded one pair (2) of JetBlue tickets to anywhere JetBlue flies.
A Red Carpet Reception preceded the screening for JetBlue executives and talent, featuring JetBlue's BLUEBetty.

Gift Bags for all with the props to take part in the 'Movie Party'

The launch event was all about taking a farcical look at the airline industry.  The evening was highlighted with a special screening of the '80s classic movie AIRPLANE! Featuring a live stage show with costumed performers; the audience was encouraged to dress up as their favorite AIRPLANE! cast member. Everyone received costumed props that were used during key scenes throughout the film or whenever they felt like it. There were balsa wood model airplanes flying through the air, woppie cushions making their unforgettable noise, glowing necklaces, barf bags, Kleenex, auto-pilots being tossed through the audience, all in all a really fun time was had by all.
