IFC and Target Joined Together to Host this Year's Independent Spirit Awards After Party
The Independent Film Channel (IFC), the first and largest network dedicated to independent film making has successfully completed the Independent Spirit Awards
On the heals of their successful party at the Sundance Film Festival, IFC and Target took their partnership from the snow of Park City to the sand of Santa Monica and joined together once again to co-host this year's Independent Spirit Awards After Party. The event took place at Shutters on the Beach, Saturday, February 28, 2004 immediately following the awards ceremony. Indie darling Rosanna Arquette was the celebrity DJ at the event.
As co-host, Target invited Kate Spade and Jack Spade to design exclusive IFC bags, which will were given to party attendees.
For years, IFC's Independent Spirit Awards After Party has been the hottest spot for celebrities and filmmakers to continue the celebration of independent cinema. The star-studded event has been host to many indie actors and supporters such as Hilary Swank, Marisa Tomei, Chloe Sevigny, Jennifer Beals, Jennifer Tilly, Joe Pantoliano, John Waters, Juliette Lewis, Kirsten Dunst, Maggie Gyllenhaal, Jake Gyllenhaal, Patricia Clarkson, Patrick Swayzee, Robert Duvall, Scarlett Johanson, Thora Birch, Illeana Douglas, Jon Favreau, Marcia Gay Harden, Dennis Hopper, Ang Lee and many more. The After Party also celebrated two of IFC's celebrated films "Pieces of April" written/directed by Peter Hedges and starring Katie Holmes and Patricia Clarkson, which was nominated for Best Screenplay and the John Cassavetes Award as well as "Camp," written/directed by Todd Graff, which received a Best Debut Performance nomination for Anna Kendrick.
