No Fireworks on the 4th of July at the Queen Mary

After 21 years no fireworks from The Queen Mary

The Queen Mary regrets to announce that we will be unable to showcase our Annual July 4th Tribute to America Fireworks Extravaganza this year as a result of restrictively high financial demands put upon us by the City of Long Beach. The city is demanding that the Queen Mary pay up to $70,000 in public safety costs before approving a permit for July 4 fireworks, a requirement not insisted upon in the past. The Queen Mary also has to pay $50,000 for the fireworks. The absence of this year's fireworks show will be the end of a 21-year tradition.

We hope you will still choose to visit the Queen Mary for the July 4th weekend and enjoy all we have to offer, from our tours and exhibits to our restaurants and on-board hotel.

If you would like to voice your opinion to the city, you may do so by contacting Reggie Harrison, Deputy City Manager, at (562) 570-5850 or Email: [email protected].

Have a Safe and Happy 4th of July!!!
