On Sunday January 28th I attended a pre-screening party of the movie 'Factory Girl' at the Wilshire Screening room and Audis Husar fine art gallery.  The art gallery featured twelve original screen prints by Andy Warhol as well as beautiful works by artist Jeremy Kenyon Lockyer Corbell.

Party goers enjoyed pizza and cabernet sauvignon while mingling and enjoying the art before the screening. The art show was followed by a special pre-screening of 'Factory Girl', the movie starring Sienna Miller as Edie Sedgwick, the doomed and drug addled socialite and Andy Warhol 'Superstar".

Artist Jeremy Kenyon Lockyer Corbell who was also featured at the gallery, made It an extra special show.  Jeremy says that his work represents a continuous mystery that he can feel as an artist.  He finds that there are some images that haunt him and that the nature of his mind's obsession with particular images is not clear to him, it is just something that happens without his regard.

He states, 'I feel a need to present an image or idea in a way that I hope will somehow shed light on the deeper meaning or emotion that I sense within. I often repeat this attempt, in different ways because I feel that truth is perceived in fragments, and from different angles of vision.' These ideas are at the heart of his obsession.

The attempt not to control the observer's experience, but to peel away layers of interpretation, drawing out the subtle richness of a moment, image, or idea.  He says that it is his aim to make art that is meaningful, provocative and emotional, while revealing the extraordinary within the ordinary

Audis Husar Fine Art is both a traditional fine art gallery as well as a collaborative exhibition space for established and emerging artists and filmmakers. As a gallery, Husar showcases work from 20th century European, late 20th century Latin American and up-and-coming artists from around the globe.

As an exhibition space, Husar orchestrates monthly evenings of art and film where fine artists are matched with filmmakers to create an experience around different themes. Some of these themes have focused on artists like Amadeo Modigliani and Frida Khalo where films based on the artists' lives are screened and work by the artists or artists inspired by the subjects of the film are displayed.

Collectors enjoy an intimate evening getting to know artists and other art appreciators through a blend of art, film and music. The goal is to create a unique art going experience that allows for collaboration between the different art forms.

Curator Audis Husar, born in Bogota, Colombia, has over 15 years of experience as a private collector, broker and consultant of fine art. Husar's work includes the 1995 Robert Graham exhibition, the Fernando Botero installation in 1997 for the City of Beverly Hills and the Tina Modotti, Vitta & Photography exhibition 1999.

This evening of art and film was a joint venture with the Weinstein Company and MGM. Portions of the event proceeds go to programs for children in the Los Angeles area.
