The Safety Harbor Kids organization held their 6th Annual Polo fundraiser yesterday, June 9, at the historic Will Rogers State Park Polo Grounds in Pacific Palisades, California.
The annual polo & luncheon event helps to give support for the over 2000 orphans, foster & homeless children that Safety Harbor Kids serve in Southern California. Safety Harbor Kids enrichs the lives of orphans and homeless children through education in the areas of College, Career, Music and the Arts. Through community and corporate donations and sponsorships, Safety Harbor Kids is able to bring academic tutoring, career development, music and the arts education and mentorships to disadvantaged children.
Celebrities, from stage & screen, came out to show their support for the Safety Harbor Kids organization & walked the red carpet including Eric Roberts, Renee Taylor, Joseph Bologna, Michael Clarke Duncan, Omarosa, Bai Ling & Shauna Sand.
It was a day of fun & entertainment for all ages, as guests watched Polo, while listening to live jazz music by the Safety Harbor Live Travelin band lead by Ed Roth & indulged in food provided by LA’s Taste Restaurant. Drinks were provided by a variety of sponsors including O.N.E Coconut Water, DAMA Tequila, & EVOL.
Also, featured at the event was a silent & live auction, with Hollywood & Sports memorabilia provided by Amazing Memories, which also helped to raise funds for the Safety Harbor Kids organization.
Some of the auction items included, signed guitars donated by Vince Gill & Jackson Browne.
Hollywood memorabilia included a signed & framed photo of Faye Dunaway from ‘Bonnie & Clyde, ‘ as well as a ones from Tony Curtis & Janet Leigh. Sports memorabilia included a signed photo & jersey of LA Laker Kobe Bryant, as well as signed jerseys from San Francisco 49ers Joe Montana & Green Bay Packers, Aaron Rodgers. Fittingly, LA Kings pucks from former legends which were also up for grabs. There was even a sculpture by artist Danielle Anjou which was once purchased by Robert Downey, Jr. for $24,000.
The purpose of the Safety Harbor Kids organization is to create a support system for parentless, foster & homeless children to better the quality of their lives.
No doubt, the proceeds raised yesterday at the 6th Annual Safety Harbor Polo Match Fundraiser helped the Safety Harbor Kids organization to reach their goal to build a College, Career & Arts Education for the children to have a place to call home.
