South LA Community Center Wins the Makeover of a Lifetime

After a nationwide vote, Americans chose the top 5 of 10 nominated community centers to win a makeover of a lifetime from Maxwell House, and the Watts Labor Community Action Committee (WLCAC) prevailed!

The WLCAC will receive up to $50,000 worth of much-needed renovations from “Drops of Good: The Maxwell House Community Project.”  The renovations will be completed by Maxwell House in partnership with the charity Rebuilding Together, and will include:

  • Expanding their multimedia workshop
  • Building a kitchen classroom and creating a culinary arts curriculum
  • Painting the facility and updating the landscaping

You can get involved in the renovations at the WLAC by going to MaxwellHouse.com and signing up to volunteer. You can also nominate a local nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization for one of 100 Do-Gooder Grants of $1,000, with one winning $10,000.
