Los Angeles – In what has become a summer time tradition, Project Angel Food will be hosting their annual Angel Awards on Saturday, August 20, 2011. More than 400 guests will spend a lovely evening dining al fresco under the stars in celebration of those who have generously supported Project Angel Food over the years. The 2011 Angel Award honorees are Lisa Lillien, star of “Hungry Girl” on Food Network and Cooking Channel, and Dante Di Loreto, Executive Producer of the hit series “Glee”, “The Glee Project” and the upcoming “American Horror Story.”
This year’s Angel Awards recipients represent some of the entertainment and food industry’s most talented and dedicated philanthropists. Lisa Lillien has turned her appetite for better-for-you food finds, recipes, and swaps into a multimedia phenomenon -- from a free daily email service (hungry-girl.com) with more than a million subscribers to a super-successful book series and a hit cooking show that airs on both Food Network and Cooking Channel. As the Executive Producer for “Glee” Dante Di Loreto has helped the show to garner 19 Emmy and 11 Golden Globe nominations, winning four Emmy Awards and four Golden Globes. Standing as a true media mogul, Di Loreto also serves as the Executive Producer on the “The Glee Project,” “Glee Live!,” “American Horror Story,” and is the President of Ryan Murphy Productions. Di Loreto was also the Executive Producer of the Emmy award winning HBO mini-series, “Temple Grandin.”
In what is sure to provide for a magical evening, the parking lot of Project Angel Food will be transformed into a destination of food delights, bubbly drinks and stars, both in the sky and in attendance. Guests will arrive to the musical stylings of a cappella group The Harvard Yardbirds.
The program will also feature a ‘soundsational’ performance by the final 4 remaining contestants from Oxygen’s “The Glee Project.” The special appearance marks a milestone in “Glee” history as the final performance before the winner is crowned the following day.
