 October 25th, 2013- BEVERLY HILLS- The 42nd Annual Humanitarian Awards Dinner, red carpet and silent auction was held at the elegant Beverly Hills Hotel on October 25th, 2013, benefiting Peace Over Violence, a non profit agency dedicated to the elimination of sexual and domestic violence.

Hosted by Patton Oswalt, the awards included: The Voice Over Violence Award- given to Carlos Santana & Salvador Santana, Verizon Wireless Hopeline Award- presented by Ken Muche of Verizon Wireless and Project Runways Tim Gunn and given to Jane Randel, The Media Award- given to Stephen Smith by holocaust survivor Renee Firestone, The Education Award presented by Rocky Bonura and given to Sean Smith of Keenan and Associates, and The Public Service Award given to the honorable Jan Perry by Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti.

Peace Over Violence executive director Patti Giggans made an impressive fundraising speech just after Peace Over Violence chair/ Board of Directors Deborah Klar introduced the musical performance by Peace Over Violence youth leaders. Music by Smithfield Bargain preceded the awards ceremony.

Other notable Peace Over Violence representatives and associates included Program Coordinator for the deaf & disabled Laura Ripplinger and Director of Development Heather Masterton.  Dian Price of World Financial Group and nurse practioner/forensics expert Toyetta Beukes who is also director of SART (Sexual Assault Response Team) at the San GabrielValleyMedicalCenter were also in attendance.

Established in 1971, Peace Over Violence provides crisis intervention services, youth violence prevention education and case management and counseling services to survivors of violence.
