Who: GenArt and Practically Perfect PR
What: The Allyance Masquerade Ball
When: Saturday, September 29th, 2007.
Where: Boulevard 3, 6523 Sunset Boulevard, Hollywood.
The Scene: The Red Carpet arrivals began at 8pm. The weather was cool, almost like a warm summer’s night even though the Fall season has already started. The invitations to the
First Annual Allyance Masquerade Ball indicated that the splendid affair was a strict black tie dress code. For entry to the Ball, guests were required to wear a mask or opt to make a donation to the charity as guests were then given a mask for entrance. The Allyance is a Charitable Foundation set up to help one young lady raise money for her mother's bone marrow transplant and now it intends to raise money for all Leukemia patients. A short list of Celebrity names on the press tip sheet included
Alana Curry (The Bold and the Beautiful), David Fralick (The Young and the Restless), Ian Zerring (Dancing with the Stars), Kimberly Caldwell (American Idol), Lauren Conrad (The Hills), Lisa Rine (German Pop Star), Phoebe Price (Get Smart) and
Shia La Beouf (Transformers).

On the Red Carpet, an abundance of masks were worn with sheer delight by guests and attending Celebrities. Feather masks, velvet masks, masks on sticks and Venetian masks were some of the styles I witnessed at the event. As an option, guests had the opportunity to make their own masks from decorative supplies such as feathers, beads, rhinestones and glitter that were available on the upper level at
Boulevard 3. During the evening, I noticed that some guests had painted-on masks, some couples wore complimentary masks and often the mask of choice made for interesting conversations.

Guests were entertained by fire dancers, trapeze artists and dancers on the elevated squares on the lower level. There was also a fantastic raffle that raised money for the charity with prizes ranging from celebrity memorabilia to exciting vacation getaways. For the first part of the evening, complimentary cocktails were served while I noticed the retro, black and white inspired visual artwork that spun within the frames later-on during the evening. Furthermore, the white, silver and metallic theme served as the visual theme throughout the evening which gave a mystical touch to the Masquerade Ball.

The silent auction to participating designers and artists were held on the upper level. In a quaint, medium light area, we were able to view the exhibits. The framed artwork caught my eye while there were guests mingling at the bar and chatting away on the oversized lounged sofas. From my perspective, it seemed as though, there were about 20 pieces as a part of the silent auction. For the
Allyance Masquerade Ball, the guests were dressed in sensual evening attire. The dress code was a swing between evening ball gowns, feminine dresses, sexy bustiers to the men mainly dressed in evening dark suits.
