Thanks to the hard work of Kerry Maloney at Key Club & Steve Yamin of Conscience Entertainment Group, I had the pleasure of attending a unique event that raised money for charity, called “Rock for MS”. As a photographer myself, I could appreciate the “stars” of this event more that your average citizen, because they were legendary Rock Music photographers.
The event provided appetizers & drinks, which consisted of cute little burgers & mini pizza slices. Hope Wine, Lotus Vodka, & IZZE soft drinks sponsored the event by serving unlimited drinks. For entertainment the and up coming band called Stereofix was the highlight of the evening & we also had Rico DeLargo on the Trumpet, DJ’s Shawn Hookoff, Nikka Costa, & Carney.

The purpose of this event was to raise money through a silent auction of wall size portraits of legendary Rock figures & 100% of the proceeds were given to MSFriends.
Rock for MS is the major fundraising event for MSFriends, conceived under the leadership of VisionWorks Foundation president, Amelia Davis, and inspired by Jim Marshall, one of the world’s most renowned rock music photographers and winner in 2004 of a Lifetime Achievement Lucie Award.

Jim Marshall
More than ten years ago, Jim Marshall hired Amelia as his assistant knowing she had MS, and since then Jim has become a passionate advocate for the needs of people living with MS.

Michael Zagaris
Through Jim’s influence, other well-known rock photographers such as Henry Diltz, Baron Wolman, Neal Preston, Michael Zagaris, Richard Aaron, and others are now pitching in to donate their work for auction or sale. MSFriends has established a powerful, high profile, presence in three of the most important music and photography centers in this country: San Francisco, Los Angeles and New York. Shauney Recke and Nic Wegener were the awesome MC's for the evening
