Passport to Elite - finding a cure for ALS

Elite OC Productions: The anniversary room by Whiteflower Linens

Elite OC Productions and The Center Club of Orange County Teamed up for a Spectacular Evening of Glamour and Fun to benefit Augie’s Quest.

The prestigious Center Club in Costa Mesa and Elite OC Productions gave guests a passport to their world of fantasy, style, and elegance, transforming the club’s atmosphere into numerous party themes.  Every room was lush with color, setting off imaginative and kaleidoscopic delights. Guest were treated to a fashion show of haute couture designs by Marisa Kenson, a 60’s retro-disco dance floor, designer martinis and lavish arrays of hors d’oeuvres for every type of pallet. Wine for the evening was provided by Trinitas Cellars and all proceeds, including new club memberships, went to Augie’s Quest.

The affair spearheaded by the quintessential event planner, Linda Young of Elite OC Productions, the Center Club will now reign as one of the premiere social hot spots in Orange County.

Celebrities showed up en masse to meet the movers and shakers and also to bask in the ambiance of the artistic presentation of each room. Among those in attendance were Ambassador Grace Collins who flew in from Washington DC and her very dear friend, San Francisco socialite Chan Chi.  Bi-coastal jeweler to the Stars and former Olympic Figure Skating Champion Shepherd Clark viewed the rooms with Victoria Collins, a well known philanthropist from Santa Barbara .  Mariah Wilson, (Dream Girls/Lincoln Heights) walked the red carpet and caught attention of music producer Gavin Christopher (Chaka Khan and Cuba Gooding).  Real Housewife of Orange County Lauri Waring Peterson, and her handsome husband George Peterson bedazzled the event with their star power presence.

The event also raised money for Augie’s Quest.  This organization was founded several years ago by Augie Nieto, a Corona del Mar local fitness industry pioneer who was diagnosed with ALS (amyotrophic lateral sclerosis) more commonly known as Lou Gehrig’s disease.  Nieto, devoted himself to finding a cure for ALS and teamed up with Elite OC Productions LLC for an incredible fundraising event.  This is a progressive and devastating disease that destroys the nerve cells controlling muscles and ultimately leading to a complete paralysis.  Survival is typically three to five years beyond diagnosis.  This organization supports research to find more effective treatments and ultimately a cure for ALS.

Throughout the club were Fresh Art and Murals, providing the Club with the rich atmosphere by which it is known.

One of the most popular rooms was totally devoted to chocolate. Decorated in rich browns and golds, the deserts decadent – rich chocolate moose, hazelnut chocolates, flowing chocolate, dark rich chocolates, vanilla chocolates, plump chocolate covered strawberries and “melt in your mouth” truffles.

Another romantic setting was the Anniversary Room, providing a flair of sophistication and elegance with tasteful fabrics designed by Whiteflower Linens.

The Children’s room was a bold theme of colorful fantasy, where they could create their own play land of super heroes, use their imaginations and escape to indoor fun.

My favorite room, however, was the cozy cellar.  A brick lined wall with wine kegs and fireplaces – all created by Elite O C Productions.   The other adorable room by Kool Party Rentals featured Plexiglas tables and rosy colors.

The combined successful efforts of the following vendors and companies contributed greatly to making the event a memorable experience. Asher Entertainment, Crème de la Crème, Gig Productions, Whiteflower Linens, Center Club of Costa Mesa, Jeff the Silent Chief, Kool Party Rentals, Happy Photos, Deborah Hayter Publicity, Elizabeth Social Stationary, Trinitas Cellars, Vasin Sign , Marisa Kenson, Fxd Finishes, Fresh Custom Art and Murals, Couture Flowers Design, Happy Chocolate, Shine, and Elite OC Productions LLC.

Filmmaker Suzanne DeLaurentiis summed up the event by stating,  “this is Beverly Hills, Monte Carlo and Milan during the height of fashion season”.   We concur.
