On August 18th 2007 I and my Publisher, Lawrence Davis, attended the LA Confidential Clambake at the French Connection On The Beach benefiting the Art of Elysium. It was a party with the beautiful beach, wonderful food, good music, and an open bar all benefiting a good cause. Also seen were actor Rex Lee, actress Jodi Lynn O’Keefe, and American Idol singer Justin Guarini.
We had our car valet parked and walked into the house nearby. Walking through the open door we thought this was a lame party. People were just sitting around drinking with nothing yummy around to eat. We noticed the beautiful water and walked out onto the beach. Looking around we saw that the house two doors down had a ton of people and everyone was eating good food. We thought wow this is boring lets crash that party. Next thing we realized was we had just walked through some stranger’s house to crash the party we were looking for. Malibu is amazing.
The magnificent sunlight shining on the beautiful beach water, wonderful food including lobster tails and cupcakes, and an open bar all benefiting a good cause, LA Confidential defiantly knows how to do things in style. They served all you could eat of the most wonderful Lobster Tails, Flame Boiled Chicken halves, corn on the cob, fruit, other food, and the most amazing cupcake selection by ButtercakeBakery.com. They even provided fine disposable utensils that looked like real metal. There was DJ spinning music playing through the entire afternoon and an open bar. The bartender in the back defiantly knew how to make cocktails, testing any concoctions before serving them and always garnishing.
The event was hosted by actress Shiva Rose, Liane Weintraub the Founding Chair of the Center Dance Association, Isaac Joseph Editor At Large, Rebecca Bloom Editor At Large, and Lara Morgenson Executive Editor for Los Angeles Confidential Magazine. We ran into actor Rex Lee and actress Jodi Lynn O’Keefe. Also seen there were Justin Guarini from the first American Idol, Shiva Rose, Daveigh Chase, Juliet Rogulewski, and others. We also ran into the neighbors who stopped by for some good food.
The event was held Saturday, August 18th 2007 3-7pm at the French Connection On The Beach at 21404 Pacific Coast Highway in Malibu, CA.
For sale were various things such as French Connection Surfboards and black and white photographs. There were also donation bins to drop off items.
