This
Cinema City International Film Festival scheduled on March 9-10 at the Hyatt Regency in Century City (Plaza Avenue of the Stars) is the second event of the year for
Suzanne DeLaurentiis Productions. It is dedicated to helping aspiring young filmmakers get a leg up and an opportunity to hone their talents.

The first was held at Universal – Universal City and others will be held in Culver City, Beverly Hills, etc. The first one in September was five days long and highlighted features, shorts and documentaries, while this March event concentrates on TV pilots, music videos and commercials - a shorter version of the Universal event. The next one will be held in September 2008.
The gala honorees will be

While it is too late to submit your film, pilot or script for this event, you will nevertheless benefit by meeting and greeting major stars, directors, producers and studio execs as well as people with investment money for your project, and there is the upcoming September event.
Not only will films be shown and talked about, but so will commercials, shorts, TV pilots, scripts, music videos and any other creative project a producer might have for show. The idea of the festival is not only to applaud each other but to get the attention of the industry and
Suzanne’s events have done that.

The program will culminate in a red carpet black tie gala with numerous celebrities and network execs as well as the finalists in all categories. The proceeds of this event, and of the silent auction, go to help benefit several groups involved with preventing and treating burn injuries. Additionally, special recognition will be given to US Military personnel who have suffered severe burns in the line of duty. Love or hate the war, it’s important that we take care of these loyal men and women who are fighting for freedom.
Why were burn victims chosen as recipients of the monies made? Suzanne likes to pick at least one charity for each of her events. One of major sponsors of this is
C- Allure who makes burn bandages and promotes burn awareness and prevention. Some of the other sponsors include
Final Draft, Spike TV and
Fox TV.

Even though
Suzanne DeLaurentiis was born into a Hollywood family with an old Hollywood name, she did not get immediate access to the Hollywood in-club. True, her name gave her a possible step up, but it also meant she had to fight harder to prove she was a credit to her name sake.
A self made filmmaker who's had her own share of struggles, Suzanne knows what the independent producer needs – not just a great script, but great talent and of course, money. Her own movie career has had many ups and downs, and she designed her film festival to be exactly what the film maker needs – networking, contacts, contests, and more.
How do we insure that the future of film making remains exciting and ground breaking? Through education. Come walk the red carpets and promote your projects.
The event – which will have seminars, screenings and parties – is free on Sunday and Monday. Monday evening, if you wish to join the Black Tie gala where the honorees will be honored, the fee is $250/ticket or $200 each if buying more than one.
