The Chicago History Museum, partnering with NBC 5 Chicago, invite Chicagoans to submit their ideas and vote for which Chicago story they would like to be presented as a future exhibition at the museum. This crowdsourcing initiative will be the first of its kind to open the topic submission and decision process for an exhibition entirely up to the public. Submit ideas and vote on Chicago exhibition topics, beginning October 14th at noon CST, in four rounds of a bracket-style tournament called the Chicago History Bowl.

“The Chicago History Bowl is a first for museums and very exciting,” said Elizabeth Merritt, Founding Director of the Center for the Future of Museums at the American Alliance of Museums.

Visit nbcchicago.com today, and these pages to submit ideas for the first phase of the Chicago History Bowl, which will be administered via NBC Chicago’s Facebook page. Experts from the museum will combine overlapping ideas and identify 16 subject areas named the most. Chicagoans will vote on the top 16, top 8, and finally top 4 ideas in single elimination brackets.

Anyone can submit ideas and vote, but those over 18 years of age who participate in the voting process are entered for the chance to win a weekend for two at the Palmer House Chicago and a yearlong membership to the Chicago History Museum.
