The Los Angeles Epicurean Festival at Sofitel LA - Sunday, August 28

On Sunday, August 28, 2011, the Los Angeles Epicurean Festival at Sofitel LA will bring together culinary specialties and extraordinary wines & spirits, under one roof in a casual setting. Products that usually are only available to Chefs are being offered at the Festival. Attendees will be able to pair and compare, taste and take home their favorite selections.

 

 

LA Epicurean Cup challenge with 3 culinary students, 3 chefs, 3 sommeliers and 3 mixeologists judged by a panel of prominent food-industry personalities:

  • Michel Richard, Chef/Owner of Citronelle and Central inWashingtonDC;
  • Josiah Citrin, Chef/Owner of Melisse inSanta Monica;
  • Sophie Gayot of GAYOT.com, Food Writer/Owner;
  • FranckSavoy, Director of Restaurants ofCaesarsPalaceinLas Vegas
  • Michel Cornu, Culinary Director of Raymond Vineyards inNapaValley.
  • Mark Mendoza, head sommelier-wine director at David Myers group

 

 

 

Each chef will retrieve ten Festival products of their choice to formulate the perfect cold appetizer, each sommelier will than find the perfect wine to pair from the Festival for that dish, each mixeologist will concoct a tasty and artistic cocktail with five ingredients from the Festival; the theme is: “summer time”.

 

Food Demonstrations will be available every hour conducted by:

  • Keizo Ishiba, Chef/Owner of K-Zo Restaurant inCulver City
    • JF Meteigner, Chef/Owner ofLa Cachette BistroinSanta Monica
    • Sebastien Archambault, Chef/Owner of l’Epicerie inCulver City
    • Marius Blin, Executive Chef at the Sofitel LA

Mixeology Classes

 

Oenologists are standing by to explain how to taste and recognize great wines.
