Natural Products Expo West 2009 Review - Taking Organic Mainstream

Natural Products Expo West brought together organic vendors from all over the United States to share an amazing number of products that allowed consumers to see just how easy it is to live an organic lifestyle. The weekend was highlighted by the 6th Annual VIP Dinner hosted by the Organic Center.

The Organic Center’s 6th Annual Dinner took place Friday night and the evening turned into a huge organic celebration. The event featured an interactive science exhibit that let everyone see the amazing impact that organics are having on the earth and what the future holds for organics. This evening also gave people a chance to meet with some of the leading scientists in the world, who are working on ways to improve the organic industry. After a delicious organic dinner prepared by celebrity chef Domenica Catelli, the energy and festivities were just beginning. There were speeches, donations, music and after dinner a video message from the Prince of Wales was played and it was very inspiring as he echoed how organics can really change the future of the earth. If you are looking for one event to ignite your organic fire, next year this dinner is a great place to start.

You might not be ready to make the switch to an entirely organic lifestyle, but the “ Mission Organic 2010” goal is to have organic food sales reach 10 percent of overall food sales. This means you only need to buy organic one out of every ten items that you purchase and by doing this, you help reduce pesticides in drinking water, animals will be treated more humanely, you will help capture 6.5 billion pounds of carbon in soil, you will help restore degraded soils and finally on a personal note, you will be getting 25% to 30% higher levels of basic nutrients by eating organic fruits and vegetables. This is really just scratching the surface of the benefits of using organic products.

Expo West showcased so many amazing organic products that if you are looking to make a difference, if you would like to find out more about organics or if you already are trying to live organic but would just like to find some new and different products; this is the place to be. One day is not enough, you really need to make an entire weekend of this event. A few of the more noteworthy vendors:

This product has 20 years of research and two different studies to document that it lowers body fat, improves skin condition, provides you with more energy, it improves sleep and concentration as well as your overall health. This is really just scratching the surface of what Udo’s Oil does for you. Udo’s Oil gives you the ideal 2:1 ratio of Omega 3 and 6 fatty acids, providing you with the good fat your body needs. Crofter’s Superfruit Spreads – If you are going to spread something on your toast in the morning, you might as well make it tasty and adding that it is organic and provides you with an antioxidant punch, well that is certainly a nice bonus. Each jar contains one pound of premium organic fruit and it is sweetened with fair trade sugar. Crofter’s Superfruit Spreads are going to make you forget about using jams or jellies or anything else that tries to pass itself off as a fruit spread. Listen to these flavors; North America Superfruit is cranberry and blueberry, South America Superfruit is an exotic blend of Maqui berry and passionfruit, Europe Superfruit is pomegranate and black currant and in my opinion the one that packs the most flavor and got me hooked was the Asian Superfruit, which contains a bright blend of yumberry and raspberry. You really can’t go wrong with any of these spreads, and I would suggest you give them all a try. For more information, visit:
