Supatra Hua Hin Resort, Thailand - Escape to the Sea!

Selected as one of the “Best Paradise” resorts in Thailand, Supatra’s is a boutique resort perfectly placed at the far end of Hua Hins pristine white sand beach on the Gulf of Thailand. Hua Hin is a Royal Resort town and the current home of Thailands beloved King.

Supatra is a tranquil escape from bustling Bangkok with only 18 luxurious garden and seaview rooms in a lush tropical setting. The rooms are light and airy with elegant furnishings.

If you are an earlybird you can enjoy sunrise over the Gulf of Thailand while having breakfast at Ocean View café next to the infinity pool, just steps away from the beach.

From here you can also see Khao Takiap Mountain by the sea with its giant gold Buddha statue looking out on the Gulf of Thailand.

During the day there are plenty of activities.  You can walk to the top of Khao Takiap for a great view back on Hua Hin.

Horse back riding on the beach is a favorite especially for the kids. For the adrenaline rush take a wave runner out around the mountain point to see more beautiful tropical beaches and Thai temples.

I recommend the morning when the sea is flat for a smoother ride.  Or you can just sabai (relax) by the pool and recharge for the day with your favorite cool drink!

Beach Restaurants

Near Khao Takiap there are two very casual restauarant with tables set up right on the beach. Both offer traditional fresh Thai seafood dishes or western burgers and sandwiches can be enjoyed with a cold Thai beer or beverage of your choice.  In the afternoon there are also places to get a relaxing Thai massage on the beach.

For dinner there is a choice of either the casual restaurants on the beach or you could try Supatra-by-the-Sea Restaurant for more classic dining under the stars.

There are several way to make your escape from the bustle of Bangkok. Quickest way is by van from Victory Monument about 2.5 hours. It can be a bit of a hair-raising ride as the drivers seem to always want to break records trying to get there.  More comfortable is the bus but I decided to take the train out from Bangkok.  It was about 4 hours but very relaxing and a nice way to see the countryside

Hua Lamphong -Bangkok Train Station

1st Class Compartment

The Hua Lamphong Train Station is easily accessible from the MRT, Bangkok’s underground metro service. I booked  a 1st class compartment for the air-con and comfortable recling seat. Price was about $12.00 US.  Included is a very informal Thai lunch.  Curried chicken very spicy but tasty! Coming back I went 3rd class for $1.25 US.  There currenly is no express train during the day.  It took 5 hours and stopped at station and everyone's house it seemed on the way back!  A good taste of how the locals commute.  People were very friendly....it's Thailand, that's just a given!

You arrive at colorful Hua Hin train station, there you have many choices of transporation to your destination from  a taxi, motorbike, and if you're not in a hurry and with a lot of luggage take a rickshaw.

Classic Thai Rickshaw

I wanted to get the local flavor so I decided to walk a few blocks and ride on the baht bus. It’s only 30 cents US to go anywhere in Hua Hin.  Open air, lot's of fun and you can meet people from all over the world while on board!

So after you've enjoy shopping and sight-seeing in Bangkok you might consider a little downtime and tranquility by the sea.
