Quivira Los Cabos Golf Club – A Jack Nicklaus Classic in Los Cabos

There are numerous lists that rank the top golf courses in the United States, Mexico and the World. Once you have played Quivira Los Cabos at Pueblo Bonito, you will likely throw those lists out the window as there is nothing quite like this golf course. Quivira is a work of art that will take your breath away with each view as well as each golf shot.

"Quivira really makes you feel as if you just played at three different courses, even maybe at three different countries! That is how powerful it really is. The interesting unique mix goes from the dessert, with cactus and the chase of the road runners; to the dunes, with the beautiful contrast between the deep blue of the Pacific Ocean and the light color of the sand with it soft forms; to the amazing cliffs, with huge solid-rock walls diving into the breaking surf, and drastic changes of elevation between shots," Antonio Reynante, Director of Golf at Quivira, stated.

Los Cabos is home to numerous breathtaking golf courses, but pairing this beautiful region with Jack Nicklaus means taking your golf experience to a world-class level. Quivira, the sixth Jack Nicklaus-designed course in Los Cabos, does just that, creating a golfing destination that is unparalleled in Los Cabos.

Quivira is highlighted by huge windswept dunes, sheer granite cliffs and rolling desert foothills that create one of the most beautiful settings for any golf course in any country. The Quivira golfing experience offers more oceanfront exposure than any other course in Los Cabos, including views of the ocean from every hole.

“This is one of the great pieces of property in the world,” Nicklaus said.  “We tried to create some excitement on the mountain and in the dunes, and I believe we’ve created a golf course that plays as spectacular as it looks.”

"I do not think I have such thing as a favorite hole. As a golf professional who deeply loves this game, every single hole, no matter what the golf course is, has its own beauty. There are certainly some genuine jewels here at Quivira," Antonio said. "Number six, when windy, is one of the most difficult and intimidating par 3 tee shots I have ever played, and no doubt one of the most beautiful as well. It integrates the cliff, the ocean, the breeze and has a nice deep and receiving green. Number seven and eight are an essential part of the whole experience with the Oregon-Coast-kind-of looks and the amazing dunes. Number twelve, a par 5, is a huge downhill drive into the ocean again and that finally gets you to one of the most spectacular golf holes in the history of the game, the short par 3 thirteenth…3 words… WHAT A HOLE!"

Located only 10 minutes from downtown Cabo San Lucas, Quivira was created as an exclusive amenity for owners and guests of Quivira Los Cabos along with the guests of the four Pueblo Bonito Oceanfront Resorts and Spas in Los Cabos, the owners of properties in Copala, Montecristo Estates Luxury Villas, and Novaispania Residences.

In addition to its stunning panoramas and sharp drops from tee to fairway, Quivira offers players more oceanfront exposure than any other course in Los Cabos. All 18 holes feature panoramic views of the Pacific Ocean, which swells with breaching whales during the winter months.

Completing the experience at Quivira Golf Club is a stylish, thatched-roof clubhouse between the first tee and 18th green that offers a large rectangular bar, a casual steakhouse, and ample outdoor seating overlooking the sea. Beside the clubhouse is a spacious double-ended practice facility that parallels the ocean, as well as an elongated practice putting green and an expanded short-game practice area.

As a player, course designer and good-will ambassador, no single person has changed the face of the sport more than Jack Nicklaus, and no name is more synonymous with greatness in the sport of golf than his. Nicklaus, 74, has been named “Golfer of the Century” or “Golfer of the Millennium” by almost every major golf publication in the world.  His competitive career has spanned five decades, and his legend has been built with 120 professional tournament victories worldwide and a record 18 professional major-championship titles.  The legacy he has left as a player can be rivaled only by the legacy he is leaving as a golf course designer. To date, Nicklaus has been involved in the design of 290 courses open for play worldwide, and his thriving business, Nicklaus Design, has 380 courses open for play around the world.  Nicklaus Design courses are represented in 36 countries, 39 states, and at least 110 have hosted a combined total of close to 750 professional tournaments or significant national amateur championships.
