9 Hotel Review - My new HOME in Paris!

This time I visited Paris for fashion week and my first concern before the «heat» of the shows, was to stay at a beautiful hotel, near the city center that could offer me, gracefully, everything I needed. Therefore, I chose 9 Hotel.





9 Hotel is a boutique hotel with contemporary rooms just near the Gare du Nord (where you can always take the under-the-ocean Eurostar train and go to London for a couple of days) and the magnificent Opera of Paris. It was renovated in 2007 by the Castel Veciana studio, who also oversaw the hotel's latest project, to acquire 13 new rooms from a neighbouring building and triple the size of its lobby, too. Jordi Veciana, an industrial designer and Jordi Castel, an architect have superbly illustrated their work with several international projects for well-known brands such as Agata Ruίz de la Prada, Gianni Versace, Ralph Lauren, Louis Vuitton, Hotel Regina in Barcelona, etc.

 

The hotel concept they worked on was HOME. The idea was to offer private and public spaces that guests can make their own, perfectly embodying the concepts of the Boutique Hotel and “Home Away from Home”.

 

Skye Maunsell was specifically entrusted with designing the furniture and selecting the materials for 9 Hotel. She used a soft colour palette with contrasting elements for the hotel's interiors, expanded the existing space, and gave it a warm, comfortable atmosphere.

The Castel Veciana studio endeavoured to recreate the serene, tranquil and intimate atmosphere of a personal interior space within a Parisian Boutique Hotel. These new living and reception spaces redefine the codes of casual luxury showcasing an incredible attention to detail, where a variety of incongruous elements appear obvious, coherent and balanced.

 

 

Located in the heart of an upbeat, trendy area in the 9th district of Paris, 9 Hotel is opening its new Club rooms and reception areas to all the lovers of grace, elegance and ease. Near Montmartre, little India, local grocery markets, department stores and much more, 9 Hotel offered me a unique experience! Along with the "Home Away from Home" lobby furnished with couches, rugs and lamps, the lounge bar, the real library with "table d’hôte" dining and the exclusive meeting room, I had the chance to have everything I needed during my stay there.



What made me a great impression, apart from my favourite i-phone/i-pod speakers in the Club room, was the “Take-Away” breakfast service, where I could grab a cup of coffee and a delicious French croissant and move on to my busy day. Not to forget, though, the hospitable team that was there every time I needed them.

 

At 9 Hotel, customers are treated as precious HOME guests, and the entire staff is dedicated to their comfort and well-being. 9 Hotel was awarded the Trip Advisor Excellence Award in 2012.
