Bangkok's Got it's "Groove."

Groove - Bangkok

Bangkok has yet again added another futuristically designed destination for travelers and locals called “GROOVE.”  This is a newly expanded area of CentralWorld, the largest shopping mall in Bangkok and easily accessible from the BTS Skytrain system.

Lowel Level Courtyard

The concept is to have a great lifestyle hot-spot that features gastro bars, a choice of unique concept restaurants in the heart of the city that stays open until 1am.

Courtyard Band

We stopped by on a balmy Bangkok evening.  It was packed with casual but well dressed Thais and tourists.  It really does have a fun and relaxed vibe throughout.  In the center of the courtyard is two piece band and singer playing mellow cover tunes every night.

Groove has an impressive collection of the most prominent and world leading gastro bars.  Best know for patisseries is Maxim’s Bistrot.

The original restaurant in Paris is over 120 years old located on the rue Royale. It has and been a favorite choice of international celebrities.

Main Dining Area

The legendary Fauchon, is Thailand’s first branch of the internationally renowned restaurant and patisserie. Founded in 1886 in Paris, Fauchon is considered as the major reference in contemporary French gourmet foods.

Eat-All-Thai – Is small but chic eaterie specializing is homemade Thai food.  Fresh river prawns from Ayutthaya, the former capital of Thailand is one of their specialty dishes.

I had the stir-fried crabmeat with chilies and garlic.  To cool down the spicy dishes try a Thai traditional drink such as Sweet Toddy Palm Juice and Sugar Cane Juice.  Afterwards you can get in the spirit with their specialty cocktail Sang Som Red Bull or a tasty Mojito.

S'Mores Hunter's Lodge Restaurant

S’Mores hunter’s lodge is a concept restaurant. The décor is causal and masculine but surprisingly the owner says women are the majority of his patrons.  His creative wife was the one with the concept!

Cicchetti – is a branch of the famous Ciccetti restaurant in Piccadilly Circus, London. The restaurant is light with yellow marble works and very casual. Northern Italian cuisine is the style and I’ve heard the Tagliatelle Bolognese is delicious. They also have an excellent selection of Italian wines.

Other restaurants such as Wabi-Sabi featuring great Japanese sushi, all warrant a future review.
