Turn Your House into a Home

Close your eyes and imagine what your perfect living room would look like--be creative. What color would your couch be? Your carpet? What kind of snacks would you have? What kind of television? More important what is on your TV

We take so much time trying to put a perfect house together and figuring out the most comfortable, and affordable layout for a living room. After all, it is where we spend a majority of our free time. But, look no further, here are a few simple steps to making your living room absolutely perfect:

1. Map it out

What do you want? In your living room what do you want to have so when you are watching TV you are the most comfortable and most entertained. Think about it, and really either list it out, walk around the room and visualize it or even get a blank sheet of paper and create your own blueprint. After doing this, find out where you can get this all from and find out what your budget is. How much can you spend? If you are working on a tight budget, then remember first get the necessities and from there you can develop and grow the foundation for your perfect living room.

2. F.Y.E - For your entertainment

Figure out what you want to be watching--Netflix, Hulu. Amazon Prime, cable, satellite, etc? Check your Directv availability in your area and see what they can get you. See specials for cable networks and check pricing. Satellite TV is better than other options because they are always developing and adding channels to your liking, which makes your watching experience more pleasurable and gives you more bang for your buck.

3. Audience

Who all lives in your house? Roommate situation? Sit down and make this fun. Who wants to watch what? Who can help put it all together? You can really make this like a place you would see on MTV cribs or one of those cool real estate shows, just a little time and saving and you can put a real nice place together. Make your room cater to the needs of every person in house, whether it is all adults. Or children, or teens and you throw some parties. Make sure that you have everything planned out so when you decided to have some friends over they can see the hard work.

Your house is your place to be and feel comfortable, if you plan on making it a home, isn't it the right thing to do to put a little time and money to make this house, a home?
