Today is November 19, 2008. I am in the waiting area at the  Skin Laser Rejuvenation center located at 57 West 21 street, second floor NY NY 10010.

Everyone from celebrities to your average Joe comes here to keep their skin as flawless as possible. I will be interviewing the very Respected and Professional National Certified Aesthetican Miss Carole Lea Burns, who throughout the years has accomplished the title of being the number one skin specialist in all NYC. I noticed that there is a full room of people waiting to have their flaws erased by Carole's hands of gold. She walks out from one of the operatory rooms. Dressed in her black lab coat and blond hair tied back in a pony tail, I am taken back by her beauty, I stand up to introduce myself , she smiles and directs me into her private office. To all you skin care obsessed readers here is a glimpse into the very busy life of Carole Lea Burns.

What inspired you to open your own skin practice?

CB:                                                                                                                                                        After years of working with doctors, I wanted doctors to work for me. I’ve always had a vision to own a woman owned practice.

DR:
Everyday people come into your practice and rely on you to make there skin look f lawless, is it a lot of pressure?

CB:                                                                                                                                                            Not at all it’s a pleasure to see the results from my work. As long as I’m having a positive effect on their outlook on life, I know I’ve done my job!

DR:
How do you handle clients that are not realistic with there request of their skin type?

CB:                                                                                                                                                          I’m very detailed oriented and give thorough and personalized consultations to inform them of realistic expectations. Most skin Disorders don’t happen overnight and my patients know I’m real and I give real results.

DR:                                                                                                                                                        What are the pressures you go through to maintain your success for your practice?

CB:                                                                                                                                                        With the economy I believe my low fees are my biggest pressures, but I wont ever raise my fess due to the up and down of our economic standing. I have clients to take care of and I believe in having affordable treatment for everyone.

DR:
Is there a particular skin procedure you enjoy performing the most?

CB:                                                                                                                                                          The IPL-Intense Pulse Light. It gives undeniable results that leave your skin looking youthful and rejuvenated.

DR:
What is the most rewarding part of your job?

CB:                                                                                                                                                          The excitement of my clients. When I see where they started to how they are now internally and aesthetically.

DR:
What is your goal for your practice?

CB:                                                                                                                                                           To keep growing and being able to cater to all people in NYC. We specialize in ethnic skin and cater to all skin types. Our clinic is one of a kind, I have great staff (Katherine Amato Licensed Aesthetician and Shawn-Damion Brown Operations Manager~Client Relations) and I offer a clean relaxing environment.

DR:
Have you ever had to turn away a client / if so what would be some of the reasons someone is not a good candidate for skin treatments?

CB:                                                                                                                                                          Not respectful of my time and missed many appointments.

DR:                                                                                                                                                           Do you have clients that are very obsessed with their skin and are not satisfied? How do you handle that?

CB:                                                                                                                                                           No results continue coming. I offer a variety of treatments.

DR: If you weren't a skin specialist, what else do you think you would have been doing?

CB:  A network chiropractor, life coach.

DR:
What advice do you have for anyone interested in becoming a skin specialist?

CB: Study and follow trends and never forget about continuing education.

CB: We offer the best results oriented treatments in NYC; I have a great team that’s dependable and knowledgeable and the best equipment to treat all skin issues. I specialize in ethnic skin care , which is quite hard to find in NYC.

Carole has to be one of the most nicest and passionate people I have ever met. I can tell instantly that she wears her heart on her sleeve. She is extremly concerned with how her patient's feel and loves to build their confidence. She is a woman that helps change lives every day. There are people that never leave their homes do to their skin conditions causing them to become depressed and isolate themselves from the world. Carole becomes thier saving GRACE. During the interview I viewed her album book with pictures of patient's that had treatments. I was so amazed by the results that it naturally made me expose my complaints" facial hair " I hate shaving my neck because of razor bumps.. the CURE laser hair removal. So here I am, right palce at the right time with the perfect skin specialist. I entered the operatory room and let the woman with the hands of gold do her job. I am a testament to how wonderful Carole is. I recommend everyone in the NYC area to go check out SL R.. and if you are not from NY come by train, boat, car or plane. I don't care how you get there. Just Get THERE...!
