Las Vegas “Slim City” – Burn off Those Sinful Calories in a Fun Way

Las Vegas is nicknamed Sin City for a reason, it is full of sinful things to drink and eat. It begins with a truffle dish you can’t turn down and then you mix in a few cocktails and before you know it you have consumed enough calories to take care of an entire weeks worth of eating.  There are plenty of great gyms inside of numerous resorts on the Las Vegas strip, including my personal favorite at ARIA, but chances are you aren’t going to waste your time hitting the gym.

There are some great alternatives to a typical workout that can burn off some of those sinful calories and Splash Magazines Worldwide has put together a list to get you moving.

You don’t have to swim with the sharks inside of the casino; you can actually swim with sharks in Las Vegas. Dive with the Sharks at Shark Reef Aquarium will burn off 476 calories after an hour of scuba diving and if the water is chilly you might be able to bump that up. This one-of-a-kind Vegas experience offers scuba-certified guests a chance to dive with more than 30 sharks found in Shark Reef Aquarium at Mandalay Bay.

If you get moving to the dance floor at Light at Mandalay Bay or Hakkasan Night Club at MGM Grand, dancing for two hours will burn off 612 Calories. You will be hard-pressed to avoid getting on the dance floor at Hakkasan with world-renowned DJs such as Tïesto, Steve Aoki and Calvin Harris providing the pulse-pounding sounds for this workout, where party-goers can dance the night away in a five-level, mega-nightclub located in the heart of MGM Grand.

Shopping and burning calories is seemingly the perfect combination. The Shops at Crystals is not only home to high-end brands such as Louis Vuitton and gorgeous flagship locations for Gucci, PRADA, Dolce & Gabbana (Men’s and Women’s) and FENDI but you can burn off 170 calories while walking at 2 miles per hour for 60 minutes and just multiply that out as you are likely to spend a few hours enjoying this amazing shopping experience.

Maya Lin's Silver River

Play a round of golf at the beautiful Shadow Creek and by the time you finish the 18th hole you will find yourself 714 Calories lighter based on 180 minutes of golfing with a power cart. The Tom Fazio-designed golf course presents an unparalleled afternoon on the links and is reserved exclusively for guests staying at an MGM Resorts’ property.

Las Vegas is not home to only adult activities, but it also offers you the chance to act like a kid again by playing Laser Tag at The Adventuredome at Circus Circus. This is a great place to have some fun with friends while you are burning off 181 calories, based on jogging at 5 miles per hour for 20 minutes while you play, at the Lazer Blast arena inside the five-acre theme park.

You might not think it, but browsing ARIA’s Fine Art Collection offers you the chance to burn off 408 calories based on hiking cross-country style for 60 minutes.. For those who love art just as much as fitness, perusing ARIA’s $40 million public fine art collection exercises the mind and the body. To take the art tour to the next level of fitness, The Spa at ARIA offers an Indoor Hike that‘s a high-energy journey across the resort mixed with sit-ups, squats and lunges.

Those are just of few of the great ways to enjoy Las Vegas and burn some calories, but take advantage of how amazing the Las Vegas strip is as well and just get out and go for a walk and check out some of the stunning properties and all that they have to offer.
