Canyon Ranch Spa Review - The Relaxing Side of Las Vegas

By Stephan Martin

A few nights in Las Vegas can you leave you tired and drained, if you are looking for an answer to revitalize you and bring your body back to life, a visit to the Canyon Ranch Spa at The Venetian will provide you with all the tools you need to get going again.

The Canyon Ranch Spa is more than a place to get a massage or go to a workout; it is more of hidden retreat that allows you to pamper yourself in every way imaginable. The good news, you are in for me luxury as with the addition of the Palazzo to pair with The Venetian, Canyon Ranch is expanding from 69,000 square feet to an enormous 134,000 square feet.

The Canyon Ranch Spa is one of the most well-known and well respected spas in the country and part of the popularity has to do with the fact that they have such a variety of treatments. In terms of massages, anything you are looking for they have, including; stone massage, shiatsu, neuromuscular therapy, deep tissue and literally many, many more. They also offer baths, including the 18 Carat in which the treatment is actually laced with real gold. The other treatments include; body treatments, body wraps, body scrubs, ayurvedic treatments and skin care treatments.

The least known treatments at the Canyon Ranch Spa are probably the energy therapies. Least known, but more than likely the most appreciated by the people who have taken part in these therapies. Three different therapies are offered; vibrational therapy, reiki and craniosacral. To say that the vibrational therapy will uplift you and take you to a different level in your life is an understatement. This therapy works on balancing your body’s energy fields and finding any spots that are not flowing properly and they are corrected. A combination of chakra stone placements and acupoints, essential oils and the vibrational sound coming from the crystal bowls all help to put your body back in correct order. Finally you are in a Cavitosonic chamber that uses negative ionization to restore your energy. Even if you are not familiar with these techniques, I strongly suggest trying it, once you do it, you will be hooked.

The fitness area of the Canyon Ranch Spa gives you limitless opportunities to help take care of you and your body. If you are looking to get a workout in, this is the place to go. All the equipment you could think to use in your workout is available here, from free weights, to machines, to a wide assortment of cardio equipment. The best part of the gym though, has to be the classes that go all day long. The classes start at 6 a.m. and continue until 5 p.m. and offer such classes as: indoor cycling, yoga, cardio kick and mediation along with a number of other classes, including lectures on a variety of health topics. All of this is included with your SpaClub Passport, which can be purchased for one or three days and is also included for free with any spa treatment. After your workout, the locker room area will let you relax by offering; a hot tub, steam room and sauna to go along with great service.

The Canyon Ranch Spa is a full-service salon that will take care of you whether you are getting ready for a wedding, a fun night out on the strip or just looking to pamper yourself. The salon offers a variety of hair and nail services, makeup application and they can put together a wedding creation for your entire bridal party.

To complete the experience of Canyon Ranch, a visit to the Canyon Ranch Café is a must stop to finish off your day. The Café offers a gourmet menu that is composed of the highest nutritional quality food. Some of the offerings include: gourmet pancakes, grilled ahi tuna sandwich, Mongolian BBQ Salmon or just complete your workout with a fresh squeezed juice or smoothie. If you are just looking for a healthy place to eat while in Las Vegas, you can visit the Café without having to make a stop at the Spa.

Canyon Ranch is always at the forefront of the spa industry and they continue leading the way as in 2008 it will introduce Aquavana. This is the first European-inspired thermal spa cabins, tubs and aquathermal bathing experience in the United States.
