The courtyard has a charming fountain with running water which will soothe your stress filled big city soul as you arrive to check in. Everything at the Sedona Rouge is designed to make you relax, and it's done very well.
The rooms at the Sedona Rouge were beautifully appointed. The hotel is right in the middle of town and nothing is more than a ten minute drive away.
Their signature Reds's Restaurant serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner. I found that they do all three meals delightfully. For lunch I enjoyed their Tarragon Chicken Salad Wrap but you can’t go wrong with their salads or burgers either. Their dinner menu is a variety of fresh fish, chicken and steak, something for everyone.
The Sedona Rouge Spa is the destination for relaxation, wellness, and healing. When you book a spa service it also entitles you to indoor hot tubs, steam rooms, and a fitness center, so do come early and enjoy. They have a ton of wonderful treatments from couples massages to facials, you name it they have it. I opted for their Sedona Stone Therapy, better known as a Hot Stone Massage. They used hot smooth basalt stones to enhance my massage and it was wonderful. The entire spa is luxurious, first class, and I recommend you try a different treatment for each day of your stay.
After dinner relax in the hotel Jacuzzi with a glass of wine and check out the stars above, very romantic.
I also like to try out the spots the locals go to. They tend to not be luxurious but if you are on a budget they can be in your price range and offer very good service. Only two short blocks from my hotel was the Blue Sage Day Spa. There I met Christy Yazdi, she gave me a facial and an hour massage. Both were first rate and very relaxing, ask for Christy when you go. The Spa also offer peels and waxing. Experience bliss and transform your skin is their motto.
Another local favorite only half a block from our hotel was perfect for breakfast. The Coffee Pot has 101 omelets. They also have a ton of burgers for lunch. They offer great food, large portions, fast service, and affordable prices.
Although we drove to Sedona our first stop in town was to have lunch at the Mesa Grill at the Sedona Airport. Here you can have a terrific meal while watching the pricey private planes of the rich and famous arrive.
We enjoyed the Poblano Pepper Crab Cake and Fresh Creamy Mozzarella Roasted Peppers to start. Then the Butternut Squash Ginger Soup was delightful. Besides great salads, wraps, sandwiches, and burgers you might try the Panko Style Fish and Chips of the day, which I loved. Also the Grilled Tilapia Taco was wonderful. Save room for dessert. They also have a wonderful dinner menu featuring salads and tapas to start, then steaks, seafood, and pastas. Open for breakfast lunch and dinner.
One of the wonderful things to do in Sedona is visit the world famous vortexes in the red rock mountains, you can hike and or take a jeep tour.. Again I like to go with a local favorite for a more intimate experience and great price....Earth Wisdom Tours was just the ticket.. Our guide Kevin picked us up at our hotel where we joined another couple for an intimate 4 person tour... We drove a short bumpy few minutes into the mountains where we got out and hiked around.. Red sand and clay like red rocks abound.. A hawk flew overhead and butterflies flapped around us.
If you close your eyes breath in fresh crisp air you can feel the spirit of Mother Earth.. This is where for thousands of years Native Americans held their marriage ceremonies. Our guide Kevin was filled with knowledge and history.. The two and half hours flew by. I would definitely do this again. The jeep tours are the true magic of Sedona. Earth Wisdom Tours offer many different jeep tours to suit your needs.
Voted the most romantic restaurant in Arizona Dahl And DiLuca does not disappoint. This award winning restaurant was created by Chef Lisa Dahl in 1996 and has been a Sedona favorite ever since. The interior is warm an inviting as if you were in wealthy Italian villa. Lisa spent over a year in Italy traveling around to create the best Italian recipes for you to experience. This is fresh Italian food at it's finest. Lisa attention to detail is her secret ingredient. Everything you try here will be superb, whether you want Colorado T-Bone Lamb Chops or Grilled Scottish Salmon.
I went for the house specials, Scampi Florentina was a shrimp lover’s delight. And the Vitello Piccata was as good as any I have ever had. The wine list is first rate as is the piano player who ups the romantic mood. You should definitely pick up her cook book before leaving.
If you enjoy golf than Sedona has some very scenic courses. the Sedona Golf Resort is very beautiful and extremely reasonably priced. I love that they aren't stuffy and have no dress code. They have nice rental clubs and shoes as well so if you are flying you don't need to lug your clubs.
If you do golf there be sure to finish your game by going right next door to Chef Lisa Dahl other Sedona restaurant Cucina Rustica. There you will find a great happy hour at the bar with amazing pizzas and drinks.
The dinning rooms, there are a four, have warm rich Mediterranean colors with iron work. there are four fireplaces, two fountains and a wonderful patio. The food is first class all the way, whether you crave a fresh organic salad along with a homemade pasta. Both of Lisa's restaurants have exquisite pasta sauces that rival northern Italy in my opinion. You will also be very happy with the all natural 7 oz Black Angus Fillet, all natural Pork Tenderloin, boneless breast of lemon marinated Chicken or the Salmon. Save room for dessert. Both Lisa restaurants are not to be missed.
The best sunset dinner views in Sedona are at Ken's Creekside. This American bistro with its large windowns and balcony are perfect to watch as the sun sets slowly on the red rock mountainside. The sunsets turns the mountain orange, a truly spectacular site to see.
