Matanza Creek Winery: celebrates its 18th annual Days of Wine and Lavender Festival on Saturday, June 28,2014. Event is held from 12 to 4 p.m. at 6097 Bennett Valley Road, Santa Rosa, California 95404.
Matanza Creek offers something for everyone from scenic outdoor trails with beautiful lush lavender gardens, flourishing Olive trees, and rich perennial blossoms to wine seminars, wine tastings, lavender product-making techniques, and lavender-infused honey tastings by Marshall’s Farm. Within the tasting room there are also items to purchase such as clothing items, spa and culinary lavender items, and more wine.
The festivities of the day consist of the Latin music sounds of the Carlos Herrera Band as wine and food is served to allure and tantalize the pallet. Wine maker Marcia Monahan-Torres and other experts will present wines with decadent food pairings such as: Sauvignon Blanc and Seafood, and Merlot and Mushrooms. Furthermore, for fun, guided trolley tours of the estate will be available, and a photo-booth will be present to capture the memories throughout the day.
A portion of proceeds will be donated to the non-profit organization Ceres Community Project. Ceres teaches teens leadership skills, chef and gardening skills, and healthy nutritional habits. Tickets may be purchased at MatanzasCreek.com and are $95 per person or $75 for wine club members. Please order early to guarantee attendance as the festival sells out every year.
