If you are looking for a bargain in restaurants, you are reading the wrong review.¬† The motto has always been, ‚Äúyou get what you pay for.‚ÄĚ¬† That tried and true slogan applies whole-heartily to the BLT Steak in Miami Beach, FL.¬† I visited this posh restaurant one evening while on a trip.¬† Not knowing exactly what to expect, the cabbie dropped my companion and me off at the front entrance, and we made our way into the impressive, beautifully designed, ‚Äú5-star‚ÄĚ quality restaurant.¬†
We were greeted by the staff and guided to our more-than-comfortable, aesthetic seats.¬† The d√©cor was airy and light with eclectic art on the walls.¬† Our waiter was friendly, yet professional.¬† I thought to myself, ‚ÄúI‚Äôm already enjoying myself and I haven‚Äôt had one bite to eat yet.‚ÄĚ¬† On our right was a couple visiting from out of town, a toy salesman and his wife, who gushed over the quality of their meal.¬† To the left of us sat a famous journalist and her husband who works in television.¬† So far, my dining companion and I were in good company!¬†
Our waiter read us the specials and we placed our orders.¬†¬† With such a vast selection, it was difficult to choose, but we managed to narrow things down.¬† We sampled a variety of tasty appetizers ranging from Roasted Tomatoes to Potato Gratin. One specialty I had heard so much about, the Parmesan Gnocchi, was addicting and melted right in my mouth; I almost filled up on it before the main course.¬†
We ingested Roasted Maine Lobster with Meyer Butter Sauce, Saut√©ed Dover Sole with Soy Caper Brown Butter, Cab New York Strip, 7 Spice Duck Breast with Foie Gras, and Mango Mustarda.¬† This culinary experience was beyond heavenly, and more than filling. ¬†As coveting eyes watched us feast, we were compelled to share our food with our neighbors on the left, who happily helped us finish our main courses.¬† The entrees were so delicious that I had to loosen my belt more than twice.¬† I was stuffed, but I still wanted more.
After taking a moment to digest our food, our wonderful waiter enticed us with sumptuous desserts.¬† Between the Cr√™pe Souffl√©, Peanut Butter Chocolate Mousse Banana Ice Cream, and the Caramelized¬†Cheesecake, I could not decide which one of these palatable treats was my favorite.¬† (Yes we ate them all, but shared.)¬† My pupils dilated when the waiter offered up the Key Lime Panna Cotta Coconut Sorbet as a chaser.¬† My dining companion dove right in, leaving only a small bite for me.¬† As full as I was, I still had to have a taste.¬† And just as everything had tasted so far, that Key Lime sorbet was equally delicious.
There‚Äôs a lot to say about BLT Steak.¬† First of all, the wait staff was friendly and personable, but not too personable; they came out at just the right time, knew their stuff, and based upon what we told them we liked, they helped us choose wisely.¬† Secondly, the menu had just the right amount of meal choices; and surprising to me, the prices were more than reasonable.¬† Thirdly, and probably the most important quality, the food itself was so delicious.¬† Every morsel satisfied me with its burst of flavorful seasoning . . . plus the cuisine was exquisite in its presentation.
I would love to come back one day and enjoy a meal at BLT Steak when I am in Miami Beach again.¬† This restaurant is perfect for a date or a business meeting; or for just coming out anytime (morning, noon, or night) and enjoying a meal at one of Miami Beach‚Äôs most prized restaurants; BLT Steak also has an impressive breakfast and lunch menu. ¬†Thank you chef Matt Ratcliffe for making my trip so tasty.¬† As far as bargains go? I would like to retract my earlier statement. With BLT Steak you get what you pay for and so much more!
