The Orlando, Florida vacation destination holds much to get exited about as anyone who has visited Disney World, or any of the other resort entertainment theme parks, can attest to. Food, fun, and friendliness abounds. Yet in this haven of heavenly hosts there is one restaurant that stands out in my mind as the very pinnacle of food, friendliness and class!
The Atlantis Restaurant in the Renaissance Hotel is a cut above the rest, and that includes their fish and meats. A perfect paradise of culinary and dining perfection!
The manager, a 20 year Atlantis veteran, Kevin Hidey, greeted us in a friendly and professional manner seating us at a beautifully decorated table in a semi private almost romantic alcove. The ambiance was soft and warm as the harpist filled the atmosphere with gentle, flowing music that rippled at the background of our hearing, the ethereal sounds accentuating the atmosphere with a classy comfortable mood.
The service was impeccable as we were treated to a Chef's Sampling of many of Atlantis's delectable. A creative variety of gourmet entrees such as lobster, crab, and the very best black sea bass I have ever had the pleasure of tasting, were included in the outstanding feast.
Each dish was prepared and presented in supremely appealing and endlessly delicious fashion that excited the senses through smell, taste and visual appeal. My party was treated to a variety of chef chosen offerings beginning with, Smoked Muscovy Duck, followed by a seafood tasting of exquisite salmon, scallops and tuna sashimi as well as beautifully prepared and delightfully light salad of heirloom tomatoes and buffalo cheese. The entrees included Maine Lobster Poached In Vermont Butter, Pan-seared Chilean Sea Bass with a Tomato Cumin Cauce and Herb Crusted Colorado Lamb Chop with a Rosemary Lamb Jus. Each course demonstrating both the superb skills of Chef Willerer and the outstanding presentation and atmosphere of the Atlantis restaurant. (*see full menu of this tasting below)
