The Buffet at Excalibur Review – A Completely New and Tasty Experience

Excalibur Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas is one of the more kid friendly spots in Las Vegas and they had a buffet to match. In 2014 The Buffet at Excalibur was transformed into something that was Las Vegas strip worthy. Elevated food that is combined with a beautiful atmosphere makes this a buffet you can enjoy whether you are a kid or an adult.

The Buffet

Immediately as you walk up to The Buffet on the second floor of Excalibur you are drawn in by the vibrant colors and sleek and inviting dining area. That is just the beginning because at second glance, or maybe first, the stunning dessert station by itself will make you want to stop in for lunch or dinner.

The renovation of The Buffet goes well beyond appearances; Executive Chef Matt Scovill revamped the menu in such a way you would not recognize it comparing it to what was served at the previous buffet. The Buffet features six food stations that give you options including; American, Asian, Italian and Latin. The new buffet is always rotating the food, providing guests with freshness with every dish and every plate.

Hand Carved Meat Station

Some of the top dishes you are going to find are the chicken wings, which are as good as any sports bar, sliders, kale salad, hand carved turkey that comes with gravy that is unlike the typical buffet gravy, this will remind you of Thanksgiving at your mom’s house. You will also find a light and flaky salmon that is prepared with a hibiscus glaze and for the adults and kids an amazingly rich and cheesy mac & cheese that is prepared with Cajun crab. Finally on Friday night The Buffet turns into seafood lover’s home as you can choose from crawfish, blue crab, crab legs, sushi, peel-and-eat shrimp. Chef Scovill has turned typical buffet dishes and turned them into something that leaves thinking anything but buffet.

Desserts (Photo Credit Anthony Mair)

To finish off your buffet experience the dessert station offers you endless options. Tasty cookies, cakes and ice cream are expected but the The Buffet takes it one step further. They have created a crepe station that offers you a perfectly prepared crepe that is made right in front of your eyes and then is finished off with strawberries or chocolate and whipped cream. You can find crepes in other spots in Las Vegas, but the fact that it is included in the price makes this an even better value than almost any other buffet.

Crepe

To go along with you dining experience you can order frozen drinks or get an all-you-can-drink pass for draft beer and house wine. If you are looking to save a few calories with your beverages you will love the zero-calorie flavored water.

If you haven’t been to Excalibur in a while now is the time to revisit it. The upgrade at The Buffet has made this a memorable experience and created a new buffet destination in Las Vegas.
