Balanced Kitchen Review - A Chicago Caterer You Should Know

Our palette of delicious, healthy food

When the Chicago Splash Magazine editors and journalists gathered for our Spring-Summer event, it was truly eventful.

Downstairs, there was some intense wine tasting going on with serious discussions of fruity undertones, weight, placement on the tongue, food pairings and other esoteric attributes of fine wine.

Upstairs, we met two young Chicago Splash Magazine interns from France.

Our French SPLASH Journalists, Nacera and Constance

Then we had  the first ever reading of a Splash journalist's play (mine!).

Then High Tea, with our own tasting of food, glorious food.  One guest compared the afternoon to an "upper west side New York happening." I think they're right.  Our hostess and editor, Barbara Keer, outdid herself this time. And so did our caterer. The Balanced Kitchen laid before us a such a lavish palette of delicious, healthy treats our delighted palates didn’t even notice it was good-for-you food.

Our choices included ROASTED BEETS with orange- marinated shitakes and chives.

Incredible, scrumptious CHOCOLATE CHIP COOKIES, an unheard of treat for those of us who must be gluten-free, were outstanding by any standards.
